Levenhuk Trap LTE30 Trail Camera

Trail camera with a solar panel, designed for automatic monitoring of forest areas, properties, farms, plots, and habitats of wild animals. The device takes photos and records videos after detecting motion, and thanks to 4G connectivity, it can send saved footage to the cloud and send notifications to a smartphone.

Recording in 5K quality makes it possible to obtain a detailed image of the monitored area. The model works well for nature observation, land surveying, and monitoring remote objects. The camouflage housing helps reduce the visibility of the device and makes it easier to place discreetly in the surroundings.

housing, mounting, ip66 rating

The durable camouflage housing makes it easier to conceal the device among vegetation, branches, and the forest floor. The construction is equipped with mounting points and a nylon strap, which allows the camera to be attached to a tree, post, or another stable element.

The standard 1/4" thread also allows the device to be mounted on a compatible tripod or holder. The front panel houses the lens, PIR sensor, and IR illumination elements. Hinges and the side closure make it easier to access the inside of the housing and the controls.

The housing meets the requirements of the IP66 protection rating. This means complete protection against dust and resistance to strong water jets. The trail camera can operate in temperatures from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for use in different seasons.

photo and video recording

The camera takes photos and records videos automatically after motion is detected by the PIR sensor. You can choose photo resolution up to 60 MP and video resolution up to 5K. Lower resolutions are also available to help reduce file size and increase the number of files that can be saved on the memory card.

The trail camera supports image files in JPG format and recordings in MP4 format. Each saved file can be marked with a stamp containing the date, time, temperature, and moon phase. This data makes later analysis of the files easier and helps determine the conditions in which the recording was made.

The model offers various recording modes:

  • in burst mode, 1, 2, or 3 photos can be taken after a single motion detection.
  • A video mode and a combined mode are also available, in which the camera takes a photo and records a video. The length of a single video can be set in the range from 5 to 20 seconds.
  • The time-lapse recording function allows photos or videos to be taken at specified intervals - from 1 second to 24 hours. This mode does not require motion to be detected by the PIR sensor every time, making it useful for documenting slow and long-term processes.

day and night image, wide field of view, fast response

During the day, the camera records a colour image. After dark, it automatically switches to black and white mode and activates infrared illumination with a wavelength of 850 nm. The range of the IR illuminator is up to 20 metres, allowing the device to record objects at a considerable distance even in complete darkness.

The minimum focusing distance is 1 metre in day mode, while at night the focus range covers a distance from 1.5 to 20 metres. The lens with a focal length of 4 mm provides a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees. This solution makes it possible to observe a large section of terrain and increases the chance of recording an object moving in front of the camera.

The trigger time is from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. After motion is detected, the device quickly starts recording, which is important when observing animals, people, or vehicles moving through the monitored area.

PIR motion sensor

The trail camera uses a PIR sensor that responds to motion and temperature changes in the field of view. The sensitivity can be adjusted to operating conditions by selecting one of 3 levels:

  • high
  • normal
  • low

The adjustment helps reduce the number of accidental activations or increase sensitivity when observing small and fast-moving objects. The interval between subsequent triggers can be set in the range from 5 seconds to 60 minutes.

4G transmission and remote access

Built-in support for the 4G network enables remote access to the camera and transfer of multimedia files. After inserting a SIM card and configuring the device in the TrailCam Go app, the user can receive photos and videos, manage settings, and use live view.

Files can be stored in the cloud, saved directly to a smartphone, or shared via email and messaging apps. Remote operation is especially useful when the camera has been mounted in a hard-to-reach place or on a remote property.

The included SIM card requires activation in the TrailCam Go app and selection of a subscription plan. It is also possible to use a SIM card from a local carrier. The camera can then operate without a subscription, and photos and videos will be saved to the microSD card.

sound recording, memory, loop recording

The built-in microphone records ambient sounds while videos are being recorded. This provides a more complete record of the observed situation and makes it easier to identify events. The video footage can contain both image and sound, so it better documents the activity of people, animals, or vehicles in the monitored area.

The device supports microSD memory cards with a capacity from 4 to 128 GB (not included). The available loop recording function enables continuous camera operation after the storage medium is full. The oldest files are then automatically replaced with new ones.

screen and operation

The camera is equipped with a colour LCD display with a diagonal of 2 inches. It allows you to view saved files, change settings, and monitor device operation without having to connect it to an external monitor.

The menu is available in 11 languages. It is also possible to set a 4-digit password to protect against unauthorized access to settings and saved files. A USB Type-C port is used to connect the device to a computer. The appropriate cable is included in the set.

battery or mains power, solar panel

The Levenhuk Trap LTE30 is powered by 2 built-in 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with a voltage of 3.7 V and a total capacity of 5200 mA h, charged using a solar panel.

To extend runtime, the device can also be powered by 8 AA batteries (not included). The camera can also be connected to an external power source using a 6 V/1 A DC cable.
