Helikon-Tex Infantry Fleece - Olive Green/wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland

A soft and warm fleece jacket with a zip, designed as an insulating layer for cold days, effectively retains heat while allowing moisture and excess heat generated during physical activity to escape. The Helikon-Tex Infantry model is made of durable fleece with a grammage of 380 g/m². The looser fit allows for comfortable wearing of additional layers, such as a light sweatshirt or thermal clothing. The slightly longer back provides better protection for the lower back from the cold, while the whole garment has been designed so as not to restrict access to pockets or equipment worn on a belt.

Breathable fleece

The fleece is made of 100% quick-drying polyester with a weight of 380 g/m². The material provides a high level of insulation and breathability, which allows excess moisture to be wicked away, preventing the wearer from getting cold. The fabric is durable and resistant to damage, making the sweatshirt suitable for outdoor activities in difficult terrain, both when hiking and performing tactical tasks.

Roomy pockets

The fleece is equipped with four zipped pockets:

  • two classic hip pockets,
  • one chest pocket,
  • one shoulder pocket (left side)

The zips on the hip pockets are sewn in at an angle, making it easier to store and retrieve carried items. Additionally, each zip is finished with a fabric strap, allowing for easier grip even when wearing thick gloves.

Material reinforcements and high collar

The fleece in the elbow and shoulder areas, the protective strips on the hip pockets, and the lower inner part have been additionally trimmed with abrasion-resistant material, and the elastic cuffs have been replaced with Velcro straps, allowing for sleeve circumference adjustment. The high collar protects the neck from cold and wind, allowing for better body temperature regulation. The collar at the back has been reinforced with material to prevent it from rubbing against the weapon sling.

Velcro Panels

Velcro strips have been sewn onto both sides of the chest and on both sleeves, allowing the attachment of various emblems, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches, giving the fleece a personalised touch.

Camouflage PL Woodland

Helikon-Tex PL Woodland camouflage is the name given by the manufacturer to a camouflage that is a close equivalent of wz. 93 “Panther”, in force in the Polish Armed Forces. Superimposed on a gray-green background, irregular patches of black, brown and green provide good camouflage in the open and wooded areas of Poland and other Central European countries.

    Great fleece – probably the warmest and most windproof of the entire Helikon series. I own two green models, and so as not to stand out in the army, I also bought a black one, which closely resembles the original military model. The drawback of the black one is that every strand of my dog's hair is clearly visible on it.

    Great cut of the fleece sweatshirt. It’s thinner than the thickest Helikon fleeces, but due to the denser material, it protects better against the wind and provides more warmth. The material at the neck is soft and pleasant to the touch, but when I haven't shaved, it quickly wears out at the chin. It's a shame that Helikon hasn't used additional reinforcement there in any of their fleeces.

    Very good fleece from Helikon, it has the right thickness and insulates well against the cold. It is thicker than the Helikon Classic version, which I also own. Size S fits me at 78 kg, 174 cm height, and 42 cm shoulder. I bought it on promotion, so the price was really favourable. The company is reliable and the order was processed quickly and efficiently.     Top jacket, just what you want from a duty jacket, but the question remains: if you produce jackets for the military and police, why do they only get wider around the waist from size XL upwards? Size L fits me very well, except the shoulders are a bit too tight, while XL has slightly wider shoulders but a lot more material around the stomach. Jackets from size XL upwards are more suited for overweight people and not for taller people. As emergency service personnel, we should really all have a normal body shape.

    This is already my second sweatshirt of this type – previously I had the camo version, and now I chose an all-black one. It’s quite warm and comfortable, and I like the sleeve pocket design. The black version practically matches any trousers and doesn't look as military. In my previous sweatshirt, the sleeve adjustment velcro came off quickly, but it wasn’t a big problem – I’m curious how it will hold up this time. At a height of 176 cm, size S is perfect. I definitely recommend it and will probably order another one to alternate. Additionally, the shop processes orders very quickly – I haven’t experienced such express shipping before. I ordered at night, and by 8:03 am the package was ready to be sent. Highly recommended!
