There are umpteen different types of boonies hat out there and it's all a matter of personal preference in the end. I like the Helikon CPU variant very much. It's Aussie/British style apparently, so shorter brim than some other boonies. It takes a different approach to ventilation by having gaps in the outer fabric with mesh lining underneath, as opposed to traditional grommets. I'm not sure how much more or less effective this is in reality. I do find the hat fine to wear in hot conditions though, the sweatband seems effective. I get terrible sweat stains on the brim in baseball caps, but no problems with the CPU. I like that it has a traditional style chin guard with a toggle, plus a toggle tighter above the brim; should the weather be windy. As a side note, I already had a Helikon CPU in Polish desert camo size XL which I'd been wearing. I was debating whether an M would be a better fit. I measured my head and I'm 57". In the end I decided this CPU in coyote in M was a little tight compared to the XL; so I gave it to the wife, who was happy with it. If you're head circumference is 57" +, I'd probably recommend the XL.

The hat is very comfortable to wear and does not rub anywhere. Additional camouflage elements can be added to it. It is just a pity that Helikon does not offer it in another camouflage pattern as well.

Great hat, fits perfectly and looks good. The ventilation openings only recently proved their effectiveness during 6 days at the campsite, at times in temperatures well over 30°C. The only minor thing is that the Velcro patch should be at the front rather than on top, but that probably has tactical reasons. I’d buy it again any time.

The Helikon CPU PolyCotton Rip-Stop Hat - wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland is an excellent product. It is comfortable, pleasant to the touch, easy to fold, and does not have a wide brim, which is an advantage when hiding in the forest.

Previously, I used a hat from Deca, but since getting this one, I haven't worn the other. Very well made, works great with mosquito nets, I sincerely recommend it.

The best hat in its category. Helikon classic. The ventilation holes are covered mesh channels that go all the way to the top – this solution provides much better air circulation than traditional holes. The forehead band increases comfort by preventing sweat from collecting. Perfect for summer.

The hat has proved itself in various conditions – in the mountains, on the training ground, by the sea. It protects effectively from the sun and is relatively breathable. When combined with a mosquito net, it provides excellent protection from insects. Strong material and careful workmanship. Recommended!

A good quality product, airy and durable. Worth recommending. Advantages are the tightening strap and mesh which protects the inside. I definitely recommend it.
