Starts on the white light, which have 4 modes. Good spread on the light. Double click and you get Red light, red have 2 modes, normal constant light and SOS signaling. Red light is useful to keep your night vision. In the darkness I noticed my lamp have a very faint red glow, very little just enough to see where the light is in complete darkness. This feature it's quite useful in my opinion. There is a magnet on the backside that can be removed and attached to the outside of a tent or a mosquito net and the lamp will be held inside squeezing the fabric.
