Self-inflating mat with a lightweight structure and small dimensions is a practical solution for trekking enthusiasts, campers, and long hikers. The thickness of 3.5 cm allows for a comfortable rest after an intensive day and effective insulation from the cold ground. This model is made of lightweight polyester, and its underside is covered with a TPU material coating, preventing the mat from sliding and increasing its stability during sleep.

The Kerjag model stands out with a thermal insulation coefficient of R-Value 2.6, determined according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter indicates the degree of insulation from the ground – a higher value means better limitation of heat loss.

R-Value interpretation used in the outdoor industry:

• 1.0-2.0 - intended for summer conditions (night temperatures above approx. 10 deg. C),
• 2.1-3.5 - suitable for spring-summer-autumn use (approx. 0-10 deg. C),
• 3.6-5.0 - for cool conditions, with temperatures around 0 deg. C and negative up to approx. -5 /-10 deg. C,
• 5.1-7.0 - for winter conditions, with temperatures below 0 deg. C,
• above 7.0 - winter conditions requiring increased insulation.

The actual thermal comfort is influenced by: the sleeping system (sleeping bag, clothing), type of ground, and individual's resistance to cold.

The external layer of the mat is made of durable polyester fabric, resistant to mechanical damage and outdoor use. The underside is additionally covered with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) coating, which increases grip to surfaces and protects against moisture. The interior is filled with elastic self-expanding foam, responsible for automatically drawing in air when the valve is unscrewed and maintaining proper elasticity and comfort during sleep.

Simply unfold the mat and unscrew the cap, and the foam will start to fill with air automatically. To achieve full firmness, just a few additional breaths of air and screwing the valve is sufficient. When folding, unscrew the cap and start rolling the mat, which will cause the air to escape on its own.

Once folded, the mat achieves compact dimensions of 26 x 16.5 cm, making it easy to pack into a backpack. The two included elastic bands prevent it from unfolding on its own.
