Self-inflating mat with a lightweight design and small dimensions is a practical solution for trekking, camping, and long hiking enthusiasts. The 3.5 cm thickness allows for comfortable rest after an intensive day and effective insulation from cold ground. This model is made from lightweight polyester, and its bottom is coated with a TPU material finish, which prevents the mat from slipping and increases its stability during sleep.

The Kerjag model stands out with a thermal insulation factor of R-Value 2.6, determined according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter indicates the degree of insulation from the ground – a higher value means better heat loss reduction.

R-Value interpretation used in the outdoor industry:

• 1.0-2.0 - intended for summer conditions (night temperatures above approx. 10 deg. C),
• 2.1-3.5 - use in spring-summer-fall (approx. 0-10 deg. C),
• 3.6-5.0 - for cool conditions, at temperatures around 0 deg. C and negative to approx. -5 /-10 deg. C,
• 5.1-7.0 - use in winter conditions, at temperatures below 0 deg. C,
• above 7.0 - winter conditions requiring enhanced insulation.

Actual thermal comfort is influenced by: sleeping system (sleeping bag, clothing), type of ground, and individual cold resistance of the user.

The outer layer of the mat is made from durable polyester fabric, resistant to mechanical damage and use in the field. The bottom is additionally coated with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) material, which increases adherence to surfaces and protects against moisture. The interior is filled with elastic self-expanding foam, responsible for automatically drawing in air when the valve is unscrewed and maintaining appropriate resilience and comfort during sleep.

Simply lay out the mat and unscrew the cap, and the foam will start automatically filling with air. To achieve full firmness, just add a few extra breaths of air and screw the valve shut. When folding, unscrew the cap and start rolling up the mat, which will cause the air to naturally escape.

When folded, the mat reaches compact dimensions of 26 x 16.5 cm, allowing for easy packing in a backpack. Two included elastic bands secure it from unrolling.
