I bought the sleeping bag for my daughter for a camping trip, as the previous one did not provide enough warmth. In this matter, the Fjord performed more than well, but that's not a problem – it's easier to unzip the sleeping bag than to sleep in several layers. The quality of workmanship is very good. Once packed, the sleeping bag takes up quite a lot of space, so it's not suitable for hiking, but it's perfect for stationary camping.

Fjord Nansen Hamar XL SBS 1600 g Sapphire Sleeping Bag - left
Durable sleeping bag in Sapphire color, in mummy shape, ensuring a snug fit to the body and freedom of movement during sleep. Made from high-quality Rip-Stop polyester, it features a solid outer shell and Eko Loft Hollowfiber insulation.
Temperature range and usage conditions
Hamar sleeping bag temperature ratings according to EN 13537 standard:
- T-comfort: 4 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: -1 C – the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -16 C – the minimum temperature for survival in the bag. Not recommended for regular use.
210T Rip-Stop polyester, polycotton lining
The outer layer made of 210T Rip-Stop polyester protects against mechanical damage and minimizes the risk of further tearing. The inner lining made of PoliCotton combines the soft feel of cotton with the durability of polyester, offering good breathability and skin comfort. The lower part of the sleeping bag is shaped to follow the natural position of the feet, reducing empty space and improving heat retention. Inside, there is a small pocket for small items and loops for attaching an additional thermal liner.
Eko Loft Hollowfiber filling
Thermal insulation is provided by Eko Loft Hollowfiber filling, made from spiral-twisted, siliconized polyester fibers. Quilting of the outer layers prevents the filling from shifting, ensuring even distribution. The material retains its thermal properties even after getting wet, washing, or heavy use. The filling is non-allergenic and suitable for people allergic to down.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The sleeping bag is equipped with a two-way SBS zipper on the left side, allowing full opening from the top or bottom, making entry and exit easy. The Anti-Bite system prevents fabric from catching in the zipper. On the inside, the zipper is covered with a thermal baffle. The model can be connected to another sleeping bag from the same series.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The 3D-structured hood effectively protects the head from cold, wind, and moisture, increasing thermal insulation. The DUO drawcord, combining elastic and tape, allows partial hand movement without adjustment and easy loosening of the hood in a selected spot – especially useful at night.
Convenient transport and storage
When packed, the sleeping bag measures 45 x 26 cm and weighs 1600 g, making it easy to carry and store without burdening your gear.

During an overnight stay in the mountains close to zero degrees, using a tent (also Fjord), I had to unzip the sleeping bag several times at night because it was very hot. Perfect for trips in such mild winters. I recommend both the sleeping bag and other Fiord Nansen products.
