MultiCam Camouflage
MultiCam is a modern camouflage pattern created in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) under the Objective Force Warrior program. It aimed to create a universal masking pattern effective in varied terrain and changing environmental conditions.
The MultiCam pattern consists of seven colours forming gradient transitions between shades of green, brown and beige. This allows it to dynamically adapt to the background, assuming green shades in forests or brown and beige in desert areas. In Central and Eastern Europe, it is particularly effective during the autumn and amidst dry vegetation. MultiCam has gained worldwide recognition and is used by numerous armed forces and special units. In 2010, the camouflage officially replaced the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) as the pattern for the American military stationed in Afghanistan. This pattern is also available to civilian users, making it a popular choice among military enthusiasts and airsoft players.
