Temperature Ratings and Usage Conditions
The temperature ratings of the Carinthia D 800X sleeping bag are determined according to EN 13537 standards:
- T-comfort: -9 C - the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: -16 C - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -38 C - the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible. This is not a recommended value for standard use.
Pertex Quantum Endurance and Shelltex Ultra Material
The outer layer is made of Pertex Quantum Endurance, while the interior features Shelltex Ultra. This lightweight material is resistant to mechanical damage, water, snow, and wind. It also offers excellent breathability, helping to wick away moisture and sweat, thus increasing sleeping comfort. Additionally, its structure makes it resistant to abrasion and tearing, making the sleeping bag suitable for demanding outdoor conditions.
G-Loft and 95/5 CQ-Down Insulation
The D 800X model contains 95/5 CQ-Down white goose down, which provides excellent thermal insulation and loft of 800 cuin. The down is arranged in H-shaped chambers, preventing it from shifting and ensuring uniform protection against cold. The DIScover system adds an extra insulation layer, protecting the down from moisture and enhancing the sleeping bag's efficiency. Additionally, synthetic G-Loft insulation maintains its thermal properties even in high humidity conditions, after washing, and with prolonged use.
Left-Side Zipper with Anti-Snag System
The sleeping bag is equipped with a two-way zipper located on the left side, allowing for full opening. Thanks to the Anti-Snag system, the fabric does not get caught in the zipper. A Velcro flap at the top of the zipper prevents it from accidentally opening during sleep. Additionally, there is a small internal pocket for storing essentials.
Integrated Hood for Cold Protection
The built-in hood increases thermal insulation by wrapping around the head and minimizing heat loss. Its ergonomic shape also provides additional protection against wind and moisture.
