Bushnell Spectator Sport 12x50 Focus Free Binoculars

The compact model of binoculars from the Bushnell Spectator Sport series features a fixed magnification of 12x and an objective diameter of 50 mm. Thanks to the use of Porro prism system, the binoculars provide a more spatial and three-dimensional image than their compact counterpart with a roof prism. It uses high-quality Bak-4 optical glass. The Multi-Coated anti-reflective coatings applied to the lenses make the image clear and full of light.

Focus-Free System

The equipment is equipped with a Focus-Free optical system, characterised by exceptional depth of field - from several dozen metres to infinity. Such parameters allow for observation without any need for adjustment, which is why binoculars from this series do not have a central dial or eyepiece focusing knobs.

This solution is particularly useful when the distance to the observed object changes dynamically, for example in the case of observing fast-moving animals, sporting events, air shows, or car rallies. It is worth remembering, however, that these binoculars are not intended for close observations, and the minimum focusing distance depends on the individual accommodation capabilities of the eyes.

IPX4 Standard, Binocular Personalisation

The Bushnell Spectator Sport model meets the IPX4 water resistance standard. The body is filled with nitrogen, which prevents the internal part of the optics from fogging. The equipment can be used without concern in a humid climate or with sudden temperature changes.

It is worth mentioning that the appearance of the binoculars can be customised with colourful accessories. The set includes four sets of interchangeable plates (white, blue, black, and red).

BaK-4 feature
BaK-4
BaK-4 are high-end prisms made of Barium Crown glass, containing barium oxide. They are used in advanced optics such as binoculars, telescopes and finders, where image quality is crucial. BaK-4 glass is characterized by a high refractive index, resulting in a sharp, bright and well-contrasted image with minimal chromatic aberration. With excellent light transmission, these prisms perform particularly well in low-light conditions.
Multi Coated feature
Multi Coated
Multi-Coated is a technology that involves coating one or more optical surfaces with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating. Unlike basic coatings, the multi-coated version more effectively minimizes reflections and increases light transmission, resulting in a clearer and more saturated image.

Advantages: - Fits well in the hand - No need for adjustment (which is good for targets over 30 m) - The set includes a bag, strap, covers, cleaning cloth and interchangeable coloured panels Disadvantages: - Does not focus at distances shorter than 30 m - You can't fix this yourself (the feature considered an advantage turned out to be a disadvantage for me) I bought the binoculars to check results on a target set 30 m away, unfortunately it DOES NOT FOCUS at shorter distances.

Great binoculars, fully in line with the description, or even better – all covers for the lenses and eyepieces, a cleaning cloth, practical case, and a comfortable neck strap with a rubber finish are included. Additionally, the set comes with interchangeable panels with name and model in different colour variants. Highly recommended!
