It is worth noting that the cord is indeed elastic, so to achieve the right tension of the tarp edge, you will need a longer section than when using a static cord for Prusik knots. Prusik knots only work properly when made from thinner cord than the ridgeline – so there is no point in trying to use a 2mm Dyneema ridgeline. However, they work excellently as guy lines for the tarp corners and as additional straps to secure items on your backpack or bike rack.
