    It is worth noting that the cord is actually elastic, so to get the right tension on the tarp edge, you'll need a longer section than when using a static cord for prusiks. Prusiks only work correctly if they are made of a thinner cord than the ridgeline—so it's not worth trying with a 2mm dyneema ridgeline. However, they work perfectly as guy lines for the corners of a tarp and as extra straps for attaching things to a backpack or a bike rack.
