The jacket in a classic flyers cut complemented by a functional hood. It is made of nylon with high resistance to abrasion and tearing. A cotton-polyester fabric was used for the hood, which absorbs moisture less than the all-cotton material, and also protects against wind more effectively. The lining and filling were made entirely of polyester.
The MA1 is equipped with 2 pockets closed with patches, a shoulder pocket with a zipper closure and pen compartments, and an interior pocket for documents.
The jacket is fastened with a zipper. An inner strip located under the zipper further protects against wind.
The welts on the cuffs and hips ensure a better fit of the jacket and protect it from being blown up. Polyacrylic combined with polyester was used to make them.
The size and fit of the hood can be adjusted with a cord.
