It should perhaps also be mentioned that the device only works with young dogs (which is also stated in the instructions manual). With young dogs up to 8 years old it works, but with older dogs from 8 years old it doesn’t work anymore. I tried it with my 11-year-old female dog, she doesn't hear it at all and is completely unimpressed. Just like with humans, the older dogs get, the fewer frequencies they can hear.
Blackfire Anti Dog Ultrasonic Max Dog Repeller
A device that generates ultrasonic waves at a frequency that is deterring to dogs, but inaudible to humans. It also has a training mode, emitting gentler ultrasound waves to aid training, and an integrated LED torch built into the casing. Powered by a built-in battery.
durable plastic casing
Thanks to the use of durable and lightweight plastic, the device is lightweight. Its small size and included lanyard make it easy to carry.
work modes
The device includes 3 sound emitters operated by four buttons placed at the top of the casing, easy to use. On the left side, there is a switch that allows selecting a constant frequency, variable frequency, or lock. The constant frequency is 25 KHz, and the variable frequency ranges from 25 to 30 KHz.
- The first button activates high-frequency ultrasound and the torch in strobe mode. The maximum runtime is 80 minutes for constant frequency and 90 minutes for variable frequency.
- The second button is responsible for emitting ultrasonic waves inaudible to humans. The maximum runtime is 90 minutes for constant frequency and 102 minutes for variable frequency.
- The third button operates frequencies audible to humans. The maximum runtime is 15 h.
- The fourth button allows choosing torch modes. The maximum runtime is 7 h.
light modes
The device has an LED. The appropriately marked button at the top changes the light modes: pressing once activates continuous mode, and pressing twice activates strobe mode.
safe usage
The emitted ultrasonic waves are harmless to humans and animals. The sounds in deterrent mode are perceived by animals from a distance of up to 7 metres. Although humans can hear them, it is not as loud as for animals.
Built-in battery and LED
The device is powered by a built-in battery with a capacity of 1600 mAh, charged via a USB-C port. Below the buttons is an LED indicating the battery charge status; green light means readiness for operation, and red indicates low battery.

Works perfectly and reliably, cannot be heard by humans but dogs instantly 'run away'. It has various modes for both training (beep tone) and for scaring off dogs (ultrasound). The integrated lamp is really very bright and serves excellently as a torch on night-time walks. The safety switch on the side is also very practical as it stops you from accidentally activating the device when stowing it away and scaring the dogs when you don't want to.

The device is completely useless, it was supposed to scare off dogs while walking and cycling in the area where dogs often run towards me, but it doesn't work on any dogs. I tried it on my own dog and my neighbour's (with his permission), on dogs of different breeds and sizes – no reaction. The only ones that react as intended are my cats, but that's not what it was meant for. I do not recommend it, waste of money.

I had the opportunity to use it while walking and cycling in places where aggressive dogs often appear. It works quickly and gives a real sense of security; several times it effectively discouraged animals from approaching. Operation is simple, reaction is immediate, and it doesn't require strength or contact. The device is handy and easy to carry. The downside is that not every dog reacts the same way, but in most situations it does its job and calms the situation.

The Shepherd, who had previously been aggressive, now tucked his tail between his legs and walked away with his head down! I do not recommend testing the effect yourself :) The device operates almost silently, but the sensations are extremely unpleasant.
