Berghaus Tactical Pugio Backpack 42 l - Coyote Tan
Tactical backpack with a capacity of 42 litres in Coyote Tan, the largest model in the Pugio series, designed for carrying an extensive loadout while maintaining high ergonomics and modularity. The construction features reinforced side panels and an internal frame, giving the pack its distinctive boxy shape and allowing it to open wide after unzipping. This setup provides easy organisation of your gear and rapid access to contents, even in challenging field or operational conditions. The product is made from damage-resistant 500D polyamide with a double Rip-Stop weave, and between the outer fabric and the lining there is an RFID layer for extra security while travelling or working in urban environments. The Pugio 42 is equipped with a detachable hip belt that can be stowed in a dedicated compartment in the lower back panel, as well as side compression straps.
500D polyamide, double Rip-Stop weave
This product uses 500D polyamide double Rip-Stop, a material with very high resistance to abrasion and damage. Reinforcing the fabric through a double Rip-Stop weave significantly reduces the likelihood of tearing, even under demanding field conditions. Additional advantages of this material include low weight, water resistance and limited susceptibility to dirt.
Modular storage space, ability to widely open the main compartment
The main compartment is secured by a zipper, allowing it to open up wide for rapid access to your gear. The interior is equipped with Velcro panels for versatile organisation and for attaching compatible pouches and accessories. The stiff, boxy construction keeps the fabric from collapsing and makes it easier to manage your contents. Inside the main compartment, there is a small zipped pocket. An additional layer of protection is provided by the RFID layer, placed between the outer fabric and the lining (except for the front pocket), making it harder for unauthorised parties to read data from contactless cards. The model features a front zipped pocket with organiser to separate smaller items. Two spacious zipped side pockets and an elastic phone pocket on the shoulder strap provide quick access to essential accessories. Inside, there’s a carabiner for attaching a water tank. The lower rear panel houses a compartment for the removable hip belt.
Elastic shock cords, front velcro panel, compression straps
On the front of the pack, you'll find elastic shock cords threaded through textile loops, designed to secure lightweight items on the exterior. A front velcro panel allows you to attach emblems or patches, and side compression straps help stabilise and reduce the volume of the pack, minimising movement of the contents during activities. The adjustable straps allow you to fine-tune compression according to your load and attach extra gear to the outside.
Nylon frame, adjustable shoulder straps, carry handle, detachable hip belt
The harness system is based on ergonomic, adjustable shoulder straps for a precise fit and even weight distribution. The strap design enhances stability and increases comfort, reducing sway during movement. The padded back panel with a central ventilation channel gives additional cushioning and comfort for long walks. Structural rigidity is provided by an internal nylon frame that maintains the box shape and stabilises your load regardless of how much you’re carrying, significantly improving comfort when transporting heavier kit.
Overall stability is enhanced by stiffened walls and a height-adjustable chest strap fastened with a robust composite buckle. At the top of the rucksack, there is a carry handle. The wide hip belt is constructed so that it can be removed, and partial filling with soft material allows for effective weight transfer from the shoulders to the hips, delivering increased stability for the harness system. The Bergbuckle-type buckle enables silent and secure fastening of the belt.

The velcro panel is an area with sewn-on Velcro tape that allows easy attachment of various additional items, such as patches or pockets.
Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.
