A medium-sized backpack, carefully made. This is another Alpinus brand backpack I own, and so far each one has met my expectations. It works great during mountain trips: it is spacious (has many practical pockets), comfortable, and looks modern. I definitely recommend it.
Alpinus Tarfala Backpack 35 l - Green
A spacious 35-litre backpack made of durable 420D nylon, designed with functionality and comfort in mind. The design includes two main compartments closed with sturdy zips. The first one has three internal dividers that help keep your gear organised. The spacious pocket in the second compartment is perfect for carrying a 47 x 24 cm laptop or tablet, protecting them during travel.
Numerous zipped pockets
Numerous zipped pockets increase organisational possibilities. There is a handy pocket on the front, as well as a top pocket and a pocket built into the hip belt — all zipped. Additionally, there are elastic side pockets and an open compartment at the front of the backpack.
Comfortable carrying system, ADS ventilation system
The comfortable carrying system has been designed with ergonomics in mind – soft, adjustable shoulder straps allow you to adjust both the length and angle of inclination. A wide hip belt and chest strap ensure even weight distribution, increasing carrying comfort. The chest strap buckle has a built-in emergency whistle, useful in emergency situations. The ADS (Alpinus Dry System) ventilation system promotes air circulation, improving comfort during intense activity.
Compression straps, Integrated rain cover
Compression straps allow you to adjust the volume of the backpack, and side elastic cords with stoppers allow you to securely attach additional equipment. Alpinus Safety reflective details increase the user's visibility after dark. The whole thing is complemented by an integrated rain cover that protects the contents of the backpack in difficult weather conditions.

Alpinus is a Polish outdoor brand with a rich history, founded in 1990 by outstanding Himalayan climbers Artur Hajzer, Janusz Majer, and Ryszard Warecki. From the very beginning, its mission has been to create reliable clothing and equipment for people who actively spend time in nature. As one of the pioneering brands in Poland, Alpinus introduced clothing with Gore-Tex membranes to its range, setting new standards of quality. After a period of absence, the brand returned to the market, combining its mountaineering heritage with modern technologies and an ecological approach to production. Today, it is recognized by both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

Tarfala is a well-designed and thoughtfully considered backpack. Although it is stated to have a capacity of 35 litres, it seems less roomy than my Alpinus Lecco 30, which is due to the presence of the frame in the carrying system – a frame that is very comfortable. Nevertheless, the backpack fits quite a lot. The fabric resembles Cordura, and the green colour looks excellent. Lying next to the military Wisport, it looks as if it would fit, but it stands out with significantly greater comfort and ergonomic solutions compared to the popular military “bricks”. After years of using heavy, military models, I have no desire to return to them – the Alpinus is much more comfortable, which is crucial for everyday use. The solid ventilation mesh and the frame on the back make a great solution for summer days. I definitely recommend it.

The backpack is very roomy, well-designed and comfortable – 35 litres offers lots of space for belongings, clothes and food. It sits very well on the back, and the green colour blends in nicely with the surroundings. It's light, yet durable – perfect for the mountains, weekend trips or everyday use.
-
I bought this backpack for my dad for his trip to the mountains, because the previous one was too small and uncomfortable. My dad is very satisfied – he points out that the stowable rain cover and well-placed pockets, along with the practical carrying system, work excellently.
-
Wearing this backpack is very comfortable and, thanks to the frame, your back doesn't get sweaty. Unfortunately, the way the interior is designed makes it difficult to conveniently put in and take out items. In my opinion, the actual capacity is about 20 litres. I kept it only because it's comfy to wear, as the inside is very tight.
-
The backpack is decent and during promotions costs very little. Compared to the Hi Tech Aruba 35l, this model is more attractively priced and bigger. Only the front compartment seems unnecessary – during rain water got inside, but that's down to individual preference.
-
Overall, it is fine, although a downside is the shaped frame, which reduces the space in the main compartment. Despite that, I bought it on sale and the price was adequate.
-
Quite a nice backpack, the frame does its job, just like in a Deuter, but at a much lower price. The material could be thicker, but at this price you can't expect wonders. For quick trips, the backpack works very well.

I tested the backpack during one-day mountain hikes. It is very comfortable – it doesn’t dig in or cause chafing. The stitching is solid. Even when fully packed, nothing got damaged. The large side pockets, two compartments, and small pockets on the hip belt and inside help organise your luggage. The mesh panel greatly improves air circulation, making travelling more pleasant. Although the manufacturer didn’t include an H2O system, I managed to fit a hydration bladder without any problems; I routed the tube and mouthpiece my own way and it works very well – the water doesn’t warm up from your body. You do have to keep in mind that the frame affects how you pack things and slightly reduces capacity. Nevertheless, the backpack is well made, very comfortable, and sits perfectly on your back.
-
In theory everything is fine, but this frame makes the backpack rather annoyingly stiff. Despite being declared at 35 litres, it seems less spacious, probably because of the frame.
-
I highly recommend this backpack for both short and longer trips. The biggest advantage is the frame construction, which provides good back ventilation even during long walks. The hip belt is also handy – it has small pockets, perfect for bits and pieces like keys. The strap adjustment is very comfortable, so you can easily adapt it to the user's height.
-
A very pleasant medium-sized backpack for trips. It has the right capacity and is not too big. The workmanship is faultless. It's worth trying.
-
The Alpinus Tarfala 35L backpack in blue is an excellent choice not only for mountain hiking trails, but also for shorter one or two-day trips out of town. The backpack is comfortable, well-made, and thoughtfully designed inside. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
-
This backpack has a poor design – because of the frame, the capacity is limited, and if you fill the main compartment, the additional pockets become almost useless. The solution for trekking poles didn't work for me at all; it's uncomfortable and impractical. I wouldn't buy it again.
-
I placed my order at 22:54 and the backpack was ready for collection the next afternoon – that was a big surprise for me. The backpack itself is very functional, spacious and has an interesting compression system for when it isn't fully packed.
