Woodland, also known as US Woodland or M81, is a classic camouflage pattern introduced to the U.S. military in the early 1980s, modelled on the earlier ERDL camouflage. It remained the standard pattern used by the U.S. military for over two decades, until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. It is characterised by large, irregular patches in shades of green, brown, beige, and black, providing good masking and distorting properties, especially in forested areas.
