Candles are simple sources of light and heat made from wax (paraffin, stearin) with a wick, used for centuries to illuminate rooms, create atmosphere, or signal. They are mainly used for emergency lighting during power outages, camping, or travel, as well as for heating small spaces or warming meals.
What is an emergency and survival candle?
An emergency candle, also known as a survival candle, is a compact source of light and heat enclosed in a metal can, equipped with several wicks (usually 4–6). It is intended for use during power outages, natural disasters, or other crisis situations. It can provide a light source for 30–72 hours without emitting smoke or unpleasant odors. Thanks to its long burning time and easy portability, these candles are an excellent and inexpensive component of a BOB (Bug Out Bag) kit, surpassing regular candles in this regard.
