The roots of the Bahco brand date back to 1862, when Göran Fredrik Göransson founded the Högbo Stål and Jernwerks AB steelworks in Sweden. It was from this steelworks that the steel used to make the first Bahco saw blades originated. The brand officially emerged in 1886, when the production of high-quality steel saw blades began. From the very beginning, Bahco became recognizable by its distinctive fish and hook emblem.
Development and Innovations
Bahco played a key role in the development of hand tools worldwide. The brand gained recognition thanks to inventions such as the adjustable wrench (also known as the Swedish key), which was invented by Johan Petter Johansson. This invention became one of the most recognizable tools in the world. Over the following decades, Bahco introduced further innovations, including Sandflex® bimetal saw blades and ERGO™ ergonomic tools. The company's portfolio includes over 400 registered patents, and the brand has repeatedly won international awards for innovation and design.
