The pot appears to be durable – the welds are solid, and the handle is securely attached, so it shouldn't break off under the weight of its contents as sometimes happens with cheaper Chinese models. The holes in the lid, which are used for straining and prevent the lid from bouncing during cooking, are a good solution. For full satisfaction, it would be nice to have holes in the upper part of the side walls, which would allow the pot to be hung on a string over a fire. I'm giving this review after thoroughly examining it at home, as the pot went straight into my emergency backpack and I hope it will never have to be used.
