I rank Summit To Eat among my absolute top freeze-dried meals, and for a long time nothing has come close to matching this top three. The salmon with pasta and broccoli is a really tasty meal. If you're only normally hungry, the smaller portion is completely sufficient, and if you have a bigger appetite, it's better to choose the large one. It seems that Summit deliberately doesn't season its dishes heavily, so everyone can adjust the flavour to their own taste. In the case of the salmon, it's good to add a little salt, although the dish is still tasty even without it.

Freeze-drying is a process of vacuum dehydration of food products at very low temperatures (-50 degrees C). Thanks to the use of special production technology, freeze-dried food is a wholesome, full-calorie meal, complete in every respect, while meeting the high requirements of various extreme sports such as climbing, high-mountain tourism, sailing, qualified tourism, both summer and winter. It is used by polar explorers, travelers, competitive athletes, on various expeditions or camps.

The meal is filling, suitable even for an adult man. A great choice after an intense day in the mountains or on the trail. It is a complete meal in lightweight packaging that is easy to take with you, as it does not take up much space and is not heavy. The taste of the dish is very good, with the aromas well balanced. I have also tried other meals from this producer and each turned out to be equally tasty.

This portion works perfectly well as lunch or as one of your meals while travelling; 1000 kcal is enough even for a man. The dish is well seasoned, with no need to add anything. It is filling and really tasty. The packaging is light, convenient to carry, for example in a backpack, and the preparation is not difficult. Everything “cooked” properly. A big downside, however, is the recommended amount of water — if you fill it up to level A, the dish turns into soup, so it is better to pour in less. Mine came out so watery that it was impossible to eat all of it, which is why my rating is 4/5.

For me, the amount of water is just right — it makes the dish come out very thick and compact. The taste is fine, although you could season it with pepper if you want. The cheese sauce is mild, so it is not too heavy and you can easily eat the whole thing. A 1000 kcal portion in this form really works well on the go. The portion size is also right: rather small in volume, so it is easier to eat, yet it still provides plenty of calories. I recommend it, especially for women and people on a vegetarian diet. Cons: Some of the pasta did not cook through and remained hard or crunchy, despite being prepared according to the instructions. The packaging is hard to close — cheese powder gets into the zip seal at the top of the pouch, and then it is practically impossible to seal it tightly, so for the pasta to steep properly, you have to fold the pouch over and hold it shut.

Tasty dish and it fills me up. The meals from Summit to Eat that I’ve tried so far have always tasted great. Since Military regularly has offers, the price is relatively fair...

The portion is large, but the flavour should be more intense — it lacks salt and seasoning. It’s definitely not worth adding the maximum amount of water, because the whole thing turns out too watery.

The salmon with pasta and broccoli is so delicious that I bought a few extra packs. I added them to my supplies for possible trips or just in case. Thanks to the long shelf life, they can sit and wait without any problem.

I must admit that I eat freeze-dried meals at home more often than during outdoor expeditions – food on the trail is a delicate and very important matter for me, so I test a lot. This goulash is really delicious and does not require any additional seasoning to taste good. It will definitely find a place in my kit. It is also important to me that this is a real dish, not some bland mush. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

I like that these meals are over 1000 calories which feel like more of a meal on camping trips and after walking 17 miles. Most meals like this are around 500-600 calories which usually means I need to eat two of them which obviously cost more money and also weigh more. I was impressed with the taste of this meal and it's just what I needed at the end of a long day.

I like to have a supply of food just in case, and this product is perfect for that. Its advantages are a long shelf life and lightness. The variety of flavours and ease of preparation make the food very practical. A Polish product, I definitely recommend it.

The food is very tasty and filling. The portion is big enough to easily replace a full meal – I usually struggle to finish it all, unless I've had an intense day in the mountains, then it's perfect. I won’t list all the advantages of freeze-dried food. I definitely recommend this product and shop.

Exceptionally nutritious and high-calorie meal, which works perfectly in demanding outdoor conditions. Summit To Eat's Chicken Fried Rice stands out with a large number of calories (over 1000 kcal), which effectively satisfies hunger and provides energy for a long time. The taste is slightly oriental – you can sense teriyaki sauce, pieces of chicken and vegetables, which together create a well-balanced composition. It is also worth appreciating the substantial portion after preparation (enough even for two people) and the very simple way of preparing it – just add hot water and wait a few minutes. This is an excellent option for trekking, survival or long journeys where a large dose of energy, convenience and a hearty meal are important.
