Snugpak Sleeper Expedition Sleeping Bag - Amber Yellow

Durable mummy-shaped sleeping bag in Amber Yellow, designed to ensure a comfortable body position. Made from Snugpack proprietary materials such as Aqualight, Supersoft and Isofibre.

Temperatures and conditions of use

Operating temperatures of the Snugpak Expedition sleeping bag specified in accordance with EN 13537:

  • T-comfort: -12 degrees Celsius - the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
  • T-limit: -17 degrees Celsius - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
  • T-extreme: -32 degrees Celsius - the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible. This is not a value recommended for standard use.

Aqualight construction, Supersoft lining

The outer layer with hydrophobic properties is made from Aqualight fabric. The interior is made of Supersoft fabric, distinguished by its durable weave, soft texture and high breathability, which translates into comfort during use. Insulation is provided by lightweight synthetic Isofibre insulation, supporting optimal heat retention. The special structure of the fill fibres allows the sleeping bag to be washed by hand or in a washing machine.

Left-side zip, insulating baffle, hood

The two-way zip positioned on the left side is covered with an insulating baffle, which reduces heat loss and prevents it from snagging. Tapes located at the bottom make it possible to hang the sleeping bag up to dry or store it horizontally, which helps preserve its thermal insulation properties. The adjustable hood allows the sleeping bag to be fitted around the head, providing additional protection against heat loss.

Convenient transport and storage

The model works well for transport and storage. When packed, the sleeping bag measures 33 x 28 cm and weighs 2600 g, making it easy to carry without excessively burdening your equipment.

set elements

The set includes a practical compression cover with a side-release buckle, which secures the sleeping bag during transport and protects it against dirt and damage.

This is a very warm sleeping bag and, at this price, it really is worth it. Models for low temperatures usually cost much more, and this one is reasonably priced and does its job well. It is just a shame that there are no versions tailored to height, because at 170 cm there is quite a lot of spare space in the length. If there were different sizes, it could also weigh less. I rate the workmanship positively, although the stitching of the hook-and-loop fastening by the zip is starting to fray. The sleeping bag is quite thick and difficult to pack into the stuff sack, but it is possible. The price-to-quality ratio is good. I would buy it again, because at this price it is hard to find something suitable for -10/-17°C.

Very warm and comfortable, although it has some weight to it. It can be compressed well, but it still remains quite bulky. Despite the mummy shape, you can move around freely in it and slightly spread your legs, I definitely recommend it :)

Top sleeping bag... I would say it's in the same category as the Carinthia Defence 4, but it's more than half the price. A clear recommendation from me, I’ll get another one for my son before Christmas.

A solid, very thick sleeping bag with excellent specifications for this price; it's hard to find something similar. Inside, it is comfortable and provides plenty of width for an average man. When packed, it takes up a bit of space and is quite heavy, but thanks to the compression sack, it can be minimised well. I mainly use it in the car or for stationary camping rather than carrying it on long hikes.
