I bought this as a gift for my brother and for several days he couldn't stop thanking me, so I asked him to show me how it works... I have to admit, I'm very pleasantly surprised – both the sharpener and the fire starter work great. It's hard to find anything better for this price! Truly a product worth recommending!
Smith's Pocket Pal second generation compact sharpener equipped with 3 types of abrasives. The case with contoured handle is made of lightweight and durable polymer. Slots help maintain a constant angle corresponding to the optimal profile of the cutting edge.
The sharpener consists of two interchangeable sharpening surfaces of different gradations. Made of tungsten carbide, the crossed plates of Coarse gradation allow the initial sharpening of the cutting edge. Fine 1000 gradation ceramic stones are used for smoothing and polishing.
The expandable conical diamond rod is designed for sharpening serrated edges, small tools, concave blades (such as Recurve or Kukri) and fishing hooks. The abrasive surface of the rod is coated with a medium grain diamond grit with a gradation of 400.
The lanyard hole makes it possible to thread a line or lanyard. In addition, the sharpener is equipped with a small led torch, a signal whistle, a flint and a compass threaded on the line.
