Savotta Varjelus Groin Flap Groin Protector - Green

Ballistic groin protector designed to expand Plate Carrier tactical vests with an additional level of protection. The construction is made of durable 500D Cordura, which translates into high resistance to mechanical damage. The model is compatible with “SAPI cut” ballistic inserts (25 x 30 cm) and has been equipped with a PALS webbing system that allows the attachment of additional pouches.

Cordura construction, compatibility with SAPI cut inserts

The protector is made of strong 500D Cordura, which performs well in demanding use conditions. The materials used in the construction feature properties that reduce visibility in infrared (NIR). The interior of the protector has been prepared to fit soft NIJ IIIA ballistic inserts measuring 25 x 30 cm (not included in the set).

Attachment system

Attachment to the vest is done with a wide velcro panel (hook-and-loop), allowing the protector to be quickly and securely fastened to the lower part of the vest’s front panel. This arrangement is universal and compatible with most standard plate carriers available on the market.

PALS webbing

The front of the protector is equipped with vertically arranged PALS-standard webbing, allowing the attachment of additional equipment such as IFAK first aid kits or tactical tourniquet pouches.

Savotta

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Savotta.

Savotta is a Finnish family company from Karstula which, since 1955, has been designing and manufacturing backpacks, bags, tents and field kit for the military, rescue services and people who value time in the field. The brand's kit has been supplied to the Finnish Defence Forces continuously since the 1960s, meeting the rigorous standards required of military equipment. Savotta builds its products with durability in mind, which is why it uses top-tier materials such as Cordura, and almost all raw materials (97%) come from suppliers within the European Union. The brand also stands out for its own proprietary solutions: the Rapid Adjustment Slider instant adjustment system, frames made from polyethylene sheets and laser-cut PALS/MOLLE-compatible attachment points. Every design is created in Finland, and all manufacturing remains within the borders of the European Union. Along with growing interest, the brand expanded production - since 2025 its products have been made in three countries: Finland, Estonia and Poland. Regardless of where a given item was manufactured, it undergoes final quality control at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

Cordura feature
Cordura

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.

PALS system feature
PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) feature
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance)
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) is a material property of controlled reflection of radiation in the near-infrared (780-2500 nm) range, used primarily in tactical clothing and equipment. NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors. NIR technology significantly improves the effectiveness of camouflage in combat and low-light conditions.
