Savotta Askare Waist Bag 7 l - Green

A practical hip bag with a capacity of 7 litres, developed to meet the needs of the military, particularly for sniper teams, while also being ideal for everyday use. Constructed with a focus on carrying convenience, efficient equipment organisation and easy integration with other tactical equipment.

Durable 500D Cordura

Made of damage-resistant 500D Cordura fabric that effectively resists abrasion and other mechanical damage. The back panel with soft foam insert is responsible for a better distribution of weight and provides adequate ventilation, increasing comfort during long wear.

Practical organisation of equipment

The main zipped compartment is equipped with two flat pockets for documents and small accessories, elastic loops to organise the contents, attachment points suitable for ropes or carabiners and a Velcro panel. The model also has a drainage hole and a rear open pocket where the belt can be stowed or the belt from the backpack can be pulled through.

There is also an elastic cord on the bottom for quick attachment of a jacket or sleeping pad, for example.

Velcro panel, MOLLE/PALS strips

A Velcro panel is placed on the front for attaching patches, flags, the unit emblem or morale patches. The MOLLE/PALS webbing system allows for the attachment of additional equipment such as pouch.

Adjustable carrying strap

Fitted with a 40 mm hip belt with SR buckle, which features abrasion resistance and is fully adjustable for a snug fit.

The brand's gear has been supplied to the Finnish Defence Forces without interruption since the 1960s, meeting the strict standards demanded of military equipment. Savotta builds its products with durability in mind, which is why it reaches for top-tier materials such as Cordura, with almost all of its raw materials (97%) coming from suppliers within the European Union. The brand also stands out for its own proprietary solutions: the Rapid Adjustment Slider quick-adjustment system, frames made of polyethylene plates, and laser-cut PALS/MOLLE attachments. Every design is created in Finland, and the entire manufacturing process remains within the borders of the European Union. As interest has grown, the brand has expanded production - since 2025 its products have been made in three countries: Finland, Estonia and Poland. Regardless of where a given item was made, it undergoes final quality control at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

This bum bag, or rather bag, is truly an excellent product. High quality workmanship and materials – premium class. Interestingly, it's a Finnish company, but the product proudly displays: “made in Poland.” The bag is very spacious and can be configured in many ways, for example as an extra pocket attached to another backpack – for me, it works perfectly with the Wisport Zipperfox 25. The first impression is fantastic, we'll see how it holds up over time, but for now I recommend it. I'm definitely considering buying more products from this company.

I like this pack so much I have actually purchased another. I have one attached to my kahakka 25L and another one around my waist. It really expands your carrying capacity substantially. I recommend getting their organiser loops for smaller items but in mine I have bulky items such as a 500ml water filter, Helikon-Tex Supertarp Small and in the other I have a 1L water bottle and they fit easily. There is a bit of foam also so you never feel anything digging into you if you decide to wear this on your hips and if not there are plenty of attachment points for attaching it to other gear like I've done.

The bag is great – it has plenty of space and is excellently made (from what I've read in other reviews, Cordura should be very durable). It's comfortable to carry (wide strap, 'wings' at the connection, and a soft element on the back side). Additionally, the MOLLE system and well-placed holders inside make it easy to customise to your own needs (I use it as a first aid kit). The appearance of the bag is also a plus: classic, without unnecessary extravagance, and the colour looks just as good as in the photos. It's perfectly suitable for everyday use. At first, the price seemed high to me, but considering all the advantages, I think it was a good purchasing decision. An extra plus for the fact that I once mentioned in a survey on Militaria that this brand was missing, and a few months later it appeared in the range ;)
