Salomon X Ultra Forces MID Boots - Ranger Green
Tactical footwear in Ranger Green, featuring a lightweight and durable construction that combines the agility of trail shoes with the stability of trekking footwear. The model is equipped with an outer sole with Contagrip Chevron lugs and a 3D Protective Toe Cap for enhanced foot protection.
Anti-reflective material, Anti-Debris mesh
The upper is made from a wear-resistant and anti-reflective combination of materials, including Anti-Debris mesh, polyurethane-coated leather, and a single-layer mesh. The leather stabilizer using SensiFit technology ensures a snug fit and additional foot protection.
The Anti-Debris mesh effectively prevents fine debris from entering the boot, providing greater comfort and hygiene in challenging terrain conditions.
Advanced Chassis System
The Advanced Chassis system positioned at the rear of the sole provides enhanced foot stabilization on uneven terrain, reducing fatigue during long hikes.
Contagrip Chevron sole, 3D Protective Toe Cap
The contoured outer sole with Contagrip Chevron lugs ensures grip on various surfaces, including mud and loose terrain. Additional toe protection is provided by the rubber 3D Protective Toe Cap, shielding against impacts and stumbles.
EVA midsole, OrthoLite insole
The midsole made of EVA foam with Energycell technology offers excellent elasticity, returning energy during push-off, resulting in greater movement dynamics. The lightweight, breathable OrthoLite insole with antibacterial properties supports cushioning and the natural shape of the foot.
Additional protection against sharp objects is provided by the Enigma Zero HT2 anti-puncture insole, which does not compromise the flexibility or weight of the boot.
Quick lacing
Metal eyelets enable quick lacing, while a special pocket on the tongue allows for storing excess laces. A loop at the back facilitates easy putting on and taking off of the boots.

All the positives that have already been mentioned apply here – from the visually appealing, subdued colour to the convenient lacing, etc. The downside is that the Enigma Zero HT2 is not very flexible. In my experience using them outdoors, this is a feature the boots lack... However, you can comfortably walk in them on hard surfaces and it is less tiring. As for the durability of the mesh – time will tell. Regarding the cut around the ankle, which allows the boots to move a bit on the foot – the heel can shift, even if you lace them tightly. It might be due to thick socks, but I'll have to wait for thinner ones, as that'll be possible in about two months. To sum up – overall, they are good, although you can find better options at a lower price.
