The photo is misleading. The product is made of plastic. It works very well on loose sand at the beach. The square, thick handle becomes uncomfortable after two hours of searching on the beach. It is not suitable for wet or compacted sand—it is hard to push in. If it were metal or had a sharper front, it would work much better.
