A solid torch with a strong light and improved strap adjustment compared to previous Tikkina models. Switching modes is easy and quick once you get the hang of it. The indicator LED showing the battery level is very practical – as long as it lights up green, everything is fine, and when it turns red, it signals an almost discharged battery. However, there are some downsides. The mechanism for opening the casing to replace the battery isn’t the best – it’s hard to open and close. Sometimes I had to use a screwdriver to separate the parts of the casing. When closing, you need to make sure it’s actually closed – the click can be misleading and the casing might open with the batteries falling out. At home this isn't a big problem, but in the field, in the dark or with cold hands, it can be troublesome. Also, the battery compartment doesn’t seem well protected against water. Another downside is how easily the torch can accidentally be switched on, for example in your pocket or backpack. I try to stow it by turning the switch towards the strap, but that doesn’t solve the problem as there’s no lock, and it easily moves back to its original position. Of course, you can take the batteries out to prevent this, but then you’re confronted again with the issue of opening and closing the casing. It’s worth buying a Petzl Core rechargeable battery – it’s much more convenient to use than three small AAA batteries.

Compact head torch equipped with a powerful LED that generates white light with an intensity of 350 lumens and provides a range of up to 70 meters. The device features three white light modes and two RGB modes (red, green, blue). The housing is compatible with Helmet Adapt and Bike Adapt 2 mounts.

The casing is made of lightweight yet durable plastic. The sealed construction ensures IP67 waterproof protection – full protection against dust and immersion in water up to 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes. The built-in LEDs emit light in four colors: white, red, green, and blue. White is ideal for everyday use, while the RGB colors are useful for nighttime activities, signaling, or discreet observation without disturbing night vision. Only the brand is left of Petzl. Changing lighting modes is unintuitive and overly complicated. Adjusting the lighting angle is difficult. The torch can easily switch itself on. If I had to choose again, I would go for a different one.

For 10 years I've been using the Petzl Tikkina headlamp purchased from Militaria.pl and it still works perfectly. The Aria model is a completely different level, technology has advanced. The Aria offers everything I need now – three white light modes and red, green, and blue light. I hope it will be as durable as the Tikkina. I definitely recommend the product and the shop.
