Exceptionally lightweight folding nó¿ from the Slim series with a 10-centimeter locking blade. A classic from a French manufacturer with over 100 years of tradition.

The blade with a profile Trailing Point is made of Sandvik 12C27M stainless steel and polished to a high gloss. The blade is brought out with a flat-full grind close to zero-grind, which, combined with the small thickness of the blade, provides above-average cutting qualities. N is ideal for filleting.

Opening the knife is possible thanks to a notch on the head, just like in Victorinox pocket knives. In the open position, the head is locked with the Viroblock, patented in 1955. This is a steel ring on the handle located at the level of the axis of rotation of the head. When the knife is opened, it is rotated by a few degrees, so that it covers the blade slot in the handle, so that the head has no possibility of movement. In an analogous wayób we secure the nó¿ from accidental opening after folding.

The handle is made of Beechwood and coated with a clear, abrasion-resistant varnish. It is ergonomically contoured and provides a secure, stable grip. An additional advantage of the handle is its susceptibility to modification. The simplest would be to drill a hole on the back of the handle for a safety cable. We can also give it any texture, subject it to carving and stain it to the color of your choice.

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Opinel.

Opinel is a French brand with a rich history dating back to 1890, originating in the Savoy region. Its creator, Joseph Opinel, designed the first pocket knife, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the company developed the Virobloc locking mechanism, later modernized, which remains a distinctive feature of its products to this day. In 1985, the brand was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum, which included one of Opinel's models in its list of the 100 best-designed objects in the world. The company's products also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production is carried out in Chambery with care for the environment – the wood is sourced from French forests and the resulting waste is used to heat the production facilities. The range includes folding tools, kitchen utensils, cutlery, and whetstones, which have become synonymous with durability, simplicity, and the French lifestyle.

I think this is a great version of the Opinel, especially because the handle doesn’t swell like the beech one. It works perfectly in the kitchen for slicing smaller items, not for bones, but I’m very satisfied and also recommend it.

The knife is long and slim, with a wooden handle that seems to dominate over the blade. Very practical, not too small, but lightweight. The shape of the blade makes it resemble a handy scalpel. For me, the blade is a little too thin, but I guess that's what the manufacturer intended. It cuts very precisely. It's not suitable for chopping trees, but it will prove excellent for other uses. The only downside is the slightly stiff locking ring. I recommend it to anyone considering a purchase. After changes to the shape and colour of the handle, it looks exceptionally impressive.

This is my first Opinel knife, but I will definitely buy another one. It's very sharp and pleasant to use.

The charm lies in its simplicity – everything fits perfectly, the knife is exceptionally sharp and extremely aesthetic. My next purchase will be the Carbon no.8.

The knife is very good – exceptionally sharp and comfortable to use. Unfortunately, this sharpness is also a flaw, because I have already cut myself a few times just by accidentally touching the blade or tip, even without applying much pressure. Another downside is the lock – the rotating ring is quite smooth and tight, and with dry skin on my fingers it's difficult to operate. That's why it's easier to turn it with gloves on, so I probably won't use it every day, but rather keep it as a collectible.

Fantastic version of the Opinel, I definitely recommend it. It’s not as sharp as the models with a carbon blade, but it is resistant to rust.

The Opinel brand is always a guarantee of sharpness, and it's no different in this case – the knife is solid, very sharp, and works brilliantly for slicing food. I genuinely recommend it.

I bought this knife mainly for preparing food while camping, on a boat, or while fishing. It is light and well-sharpened. The long blade makes it easy to slice bread, and its shape allows you to use the entire cutting edge. For heavier tasks, I would suggest choosing the classic Opinel.

This brand has never disappointed me. The knife fits perfectly in the hand, which makes precise work much more pleasant and easier. The blade is very sharp and the steel is resistant to various types of corrosion. It is suitable both for everyday carry, and for camping or home use. At this price, I haven't found anything better. I recommend it to everyone.
