Olight Marauder 3 Rechargeable Flashlight with Power Bank Function 25000 Lumens, 1050 m Range - Orange

A compact high-output torch, representing an upgraded version of the Olight Marauder 2 model. The Marauder 3 version generates 3 types of light beam. The wide (Floodlight) beam, created by 16 efficient Cool White diodes with TIR optics, reaches up to 25000 lumens. The focused (Spotlight) beam, emitted by a large Cool White diode with a lens, reaches up to 1500 lumens and a range of up to 1050 metres, and a combined mode (Floodlight + Spotlight) is also available. An additional advantage is the power bank function, allowing other electronic devices to be charged via the USB-C port.

Active Thermal Management

aluminium body, seals, IPX8 standard, impact resistance and lanyard hole

The torch body is made of A6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium, covered with hard Type III anodising in orange. The silicone grip improves handling security. The O-ring seal system provides waterproofing compliant with the IPX8 standard (resistance to continuous immersion to a depth of up to 2 metres).

The front of the torch head is additionally protected by a steel bezel. The design withstands drops from heights of up to 1 metre. A hole for attaching a lanyard or safety cord is placed on the body.

switch, rotary button, micro-diodes

A switch designed to select the light beam (Floodlight, Spotlight, Floodlight+Spotlight) is placed on the torch body. Selection of one of the 8 brightness levels, locking and unlocking, and quick access to Turbo and Strobe modes are handled by an innovative multifunction rotary button. Turbo mode is activated by quickly pressing the button twice, and strobe mode by triple-clicking. The torch is unlocked by dynamically rotating the button by 90 degrees. Micro-diodes are arranged around it to check the battery charge level and the currently selected brightness level. Below the switches is an LED display showing the remaining runtime in the active mode.

intelligent electronic systems

The heart of the torch is an advanced electronic system that controls the current draw directed to the diodes. This solution keeps the torch in the selected mode at constant output until the battery is completely discharged. The electronic Active Thermal Management system protects the diodes from overheating by limiting current intensity depending on the selected mode and stabilising the light at 3500 lumens for Floodlight mode, 800 lumens in Spotlight mode, and 3750 lumens in Floodlight + Spotlight mode. After the torch is turned off, cools down, and is turned on again, maximum mode can be used again. The electronics are also responsible for activating the work modes and remembering the last used setting.

built-in battery, USB-C port, power bank function

The power source is a built-in 46950 battery with a total capacity of 31900 mAh and a voltage of 3.7 V, which translates into 118 Wh. The use of a bidirectional 30W USB-C port also allows the torch to be used as a power bank. The charging port is located under a cover on the side of the head. The set also includes a USB-C cable and a hanging cord with a charging function.

Active Thermal Management is an advanced electronic system used in Olight flashlights that protects the LED from overheating when operating in the highest mode. The system monitors the temperature and, if it detects an excessive increase in temperature, automatically reduces the output of the flashlight, thus reducing the amount of heat generated. The system not only helps extend the life of the flashlight, but also improves safety and contributes to the efficient use of energy.

    25,000 lumens literally turns night into day. After it heats up, the output drops to 5,000, but that is still an excellent result, as indicated by the red LED. Size-wise, it resembles a can of energy drink. This torch really makes a huge impression. Pros: - 25k lumens momentarily - 5k lumens in continuous mode - 118 Wh power bank I also noticed a few downsides: - no magnetic MCC charging (granted, it would take a very long time, but that solution is characteristic of Olight) - the 118 Wh battery is too large, which means current regulations prohibit taking it on board an aeroplane, whether in the cabin or in checked baggage; this torch cannot fly on a passenger aircraft - the holster design is not particularly successful; something can get between it and the torch and scratch the body - no space for the holster was provided in the case What I would improve: - I would add a side light as well as a red light, similar to the Marauder Mini 2 - I would reduce the battery capacity to 99 Wh so that the torch could be transported by air - I would use a different holster design

    The torch shines very brightly and provides a strong beam of light. The battery lasts quite a long time, charges quickly, and the power bank function is an added advantage. It is worth its price, which is why I recommend it.
