Mil-Tec Survival fire-starting set - Fire Steel Set

The set is fine, especially considering its price – I didn’t expect a more extensive kit with fuel and a burner here. I have two of these sets just in case, and they serve me well. My only comments concern the quality of the sparkers – it’s worth sharpening them yourself so they spark better. I've always associated Mil-Tec firesteels as being sturdier, and the metal strips included don’t quite do their job. I more often use the back of a knife, as it works better. The packaging is small and fits easily into a pocket. For safety, it’s worth sealing it with tape – I use a piece of bicycle inner tube, but tape will also give extra protection against the tinder getting wet. I definitely recommend it, as I’m satisfied with this product.

This set is invaluable in the outdoors – it works even when it's damp, it’s lightweight and reliable. You can get a fire going in a few moments, no problem! The price is good and thanks to the metal box it’s easy to carry – it fits in your pocket with no trouble.

The set is perfectly sufficient. A beginner will have no trouble using it and will learn how to use a fire steel. The quality-to-price ratio is fine, so I honestly recommend it.

For me, the set contents are fine. For beginners, it's more than enough. My only reservation is about the box – it's too small. Once you take the elements out, it's difficult to pack everything back in, as it's packed tightly from the factory. Also, it's not waterproof – although everything is in small bags, it would be better to have a sealed container. I transferred my set to a waterproof box from MFH (available at Militaria). I also added waterproof matches, so now I have an emergency kit. I recommend it for the contents. The printing on the tin comes off easily, so you can quickly 'clean' it and use it for other small items.

I don't usually use this type of kit, but this is the second one I've bought in two years because I use all the parts, and here the price is much better than buying separately. I recommend both the product and the shop.

Great set at a good price. Mil-Tec. The fire steel can be tied to itself. Personally, I prefer this solution to sticking on reflective tape. The fuel will be useful in emergencies, and the tin will be handy for small equipment. I definitely recommend it.

If you're thinking about a set for an evacuation backpack, it's better to look for something more professional. Very functional product. I added it to my backpack, as it's always worth having a spare fire source. Light, doesn't get in the way, and the whole thing at this price is great, even if the fire steel is one of the cheaper ones.

Really good for the price. The fire steel could be improved a bit, slight notches make it work better. The box could close a bit better. Other than that, everything's fine.
