Levenhuk Kelvin Snap Binoculars 12x50

Binoculars with 12x magnification and objective lenses with a diameter of 50 mm, designed for field observation and wildlife tracking. The optical system is based on BK-7 glass, roof prisms, and Fully Multi-Coated (FMC) full multi-layer coating. The nitrogen-filled body sealed to the IP67 standard allows operation in changing weather conditions, and the included smartphone adapter enables taking photos of the observed image.

The optical system consists of 7 elements arranged in 5 groups. The eyepieces use 4 elements in 3 groups, while the objective lenses use 3 elements in 2 groups. The design is based on BK-7 optical glass and a full Fully Multi-Coated multi-layer coating applied to the optical system and prisms.

The field of view is 5 degrees, which translates to 88 m at a distance of 1000 m. The minimum focusing distance is 2 m, and focus adjustment is central. The eyepiece dioptre correction works within a range of 3 dioptres in both directions. The resolution threshold reaches 3.75 arcseconds.

The exit pupil diameter is 4.2 mm and defines the width of the light beam exiting the eyepiece, and thus also the amount of light reaching the eye. The twilight factor of 24.49 and relative brightness of 17.4 describe system parameters related to observation in lower light. The eye relief is 16 mm.

The body is made of steel and plastic. The hermetic design is filled with nitrogen, which reduces the risk of fogging on internal optical surfaces during temperature changes.

The IP67 protection rating means complete protection against dust and protection against short-term immersion in water. The Twist-up eyecups have 3 fixed positions, making it easier to adjust the setting also for users who wear glasses. The interpupillary distance is adjustable within a range of 61–74 mm.

The binoculars are equipped with a standard 1/4" thread, which allows mounting on a tripod with the use of an adapter.
