I’m writing this review after testing the trousers in more demanding conditions—they got seriously snagged several times on a protruding, sharp branch while moving through fallen trunks, and there is no visible damage on them. For such lightweight trousers, they are genuinely very durable. There’s also no point in once again stressing their flexibility and the fact that they do not restrict movement at all—they’re simply excellent. After the first trip out into the field, it’s hard to switch back to anything else. The pencott wildwood pattern makes a great impression.
Helikon-Tex OTP VersaStretch Trousers - Black
Outdoor Tactical Trousers - an updated version of the popular UTP (Urban Tactical Trousers) model. Compared to UTP trousers, the OTP model is made of a fabric manufactured using 4-Way Elastic technology, which is characterised by high elasticity in all directions, quick drying, shape retention, lightness and breathability. The addition of Teflon to the fabric increases its resistance to stains and dirt. Thanks to the large number of pockets and their practical layout, these trousers are perfect for urban environments and will not disappoint during outdoor activities.
Above-average freedom of movement and durability
An excellent compromise between military and civilian clothing - discreet design, functionality of combat trousers.
The innovative fit, appropriate seams and fabric used to make the trousers ensure above-average freedom of movement and durability.
10 spacious pockets
The trousers are equipped with ten pockets:
- two classic mesh pockets at hip height with reinforced edges
- four on the thighs (two wide mesh pockets with zips and two narrow ones with Velcro fastenings)
- four at the back (two wide mesh pockets and two narrow ones inside the wide ones)
Additionally, there are pockets inside the legs at knee level, allowing for the insertion of protective inserts.
Easy fit of the trousers to the figure
Instead of a button, the trousers are equipped with a wide Velcro fastener, allowing for adjustment within a range of 6 cm. An elastic band is sewn into the waistband to improve the fit of the trousers to individual body shapes.
Two front belt loops at the bottom are equipped with additional loops for attaching a carabiner, for example.

The trousers are made of excellent quality materials and fit great. They are perfect both for work and sports. The pockets are well positioned and do not restrict movement. There are special pockets for pads and protectors on the knees. Definitely worth the price – I recommend them.

Perfect trousers for my use. I intended to use these for hillwalking in slightly cooler days. They are stretchy and fit well. I’m 6ft and medium build. I got the M long. The material is great, 4 way stretch and windproof and water resistant. The velcro fastening is actually really good as it’s comfortable and allows for a little adjustment. Belt loops are great if needed and there are plenty of pockets which are mesh lined for ventilation. It doesn’t have leg vents or leg adjusters at the bottom of the legs but there are small holes to add these which I might do. The quality and construction is amazing especially at that price. I got the red as I like bright colours for hillwalking but these have many uses. I work outside and these would also be perfect for that. I’m considering buying the lite version as well for hot days. Highly recommend them.

They are brilliant. Very lightweight and flexible, which makes them excellent for hiking. I tested them during the recent heatwave. They do not make too much noise, and I have sensitive hearing. There is hardly any need to go into detail about the superbly designed pockets.

Size: L
The Helikon-Tex OTP VersaStretch trousers perform excellently both during outdoor activities and for everyday wear. The fabric is extremely comfortable, stretchy, and provides full freedom of movement when walking, squatting, or climbing. The numerous pockets are sensibly arranged and are very functional in the field.

I wanted to buy the "Lite" version, but in the end I couldn't wait for my size and I absolutely do not regret this decision. These are exactly the kind of trousers I needed for warm days – everything, from the size (Helikon-Tex always gets the dimensions right), to the comfort of use, to the quality of workmanship, meets expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

The trousers are extremely comfortable, flexible, carefully made and very well designed. The material is similar in feel and wear to softshell. I also had the UTP model, but in my opinion these are better. I usually choose trousers in size 34-36/32, and size L turned out to be perfect for me.

Great trousers for three-season trekking and mountaineering. I wasn’t familiar with the full Helikon-Tex range, but after watching some YouTube reviews, I decided to order a pair of these VesaStretch trousers as an alternative to products from more popular brands. I bought the red and black version — a colour scheme I usually wear for outdoor activities — which happened to be on sale. After receiving and testing them, I feel they hold their own against products from Fjällräven or Columbia and are far superior to those from CMP or Decathlon. The velcro fastening, the amount of belt loops and pockets, the YKK zippers... are all great features, all at an unbeatable price. I am 1.84m tall and weigh 90kg, and I usually wear size XL in Helikon-Tex trousers. However, when I tried this model on, they kept slipping down from my waist due to the material’s elasticity, so I returned them and ordered a size L instead.

Great trousers – the material is stretchy and of good quality, which makes them very comfortable. The trousers are comfortable, elastic and pleasant to the touch. The material is thin but quite dense, so on hot days they can be warm to wear, but that's the case with all trousers during a heatwave. The size fits perfectly. They are excellent.

My first Helikon OTP pants , my biggest worry was find perfect size but on 88 waist , hips 94 and my height 178 cm , size M (32 /32 ) is perfect which on any other brands would be to thith but design whit velcro and material of pants make them now my primary summer when on job (work pants) ,, all standard like D rings, pockets for mags are on ..holes for stoppers 👍🏻.. Shure I will try another model from Helikon .... Loving this model , comfortable on heat especially when pockets are open even better

Some time ago I bought them on sale (if I had known the price would go up so much, I would have taken a few pairs). On a daily basis I wear UTP, but when the heat came, I pulled these out of the wardrobe. I have to admit – they are great. Very light, fit the legs perfectly 😂. Thanks to this, my legs don't sweat. The pockets are made of mesh – it feels like wearing swimming trunks with longer legs. The girls glance in Biedronka, and the guys envy the look (and these trousers). Definitely recommend!

I have the UTP, UTS, OTP and OTS. Each of them is great: they are comfortable, solid, functional, and in my opinion, they also look good. The price isn't the lowest, but despite that, I think it's worth buying them.

Great trousers – the material is stretchy and of good quality, which makes them very comfortable. I wear them every day. Although they are thin, I don't feel cold during winter walks to work. They've also proved themselves on mountain trips. I definitely recommend them; they are my favourite trousers.
-
Very stretchy pants. I'm 178cm tall and weigh 75kg. Medium regular is a perfect fit for me. A bit on the loud side if you like quiet fabric. Quality feels superb!
-
Very comfortable trousers. I have two pairs – one grey, the other beige. I wash and tumble dry them often, and so far I haven't noticed any signs of wear. As for the colour, it's hard for me to judge as I don't have anything to compare with newer models. For me, they're great for transitional seasons, that is, autumn and spring. However, in summer, although the material is thin, I do feel it's a bit too warm and makes me sweat.
