I give five stars, although I have a small suggestion – an additional zippered inner pocket would be very useful. This is already my second jacket of this type, which confirms its quality. My first one was a perfect fit, but because of that, you couldn’t fit much underneath. This time, I chose a larger size, as intended, so that it could serve as another layer – and it worked perfectly during this winter. Also, big plus for Militaria – I placed the order on Sunday evening and it arrived at the parcel locker already on Monday morning.
Helikon-Tex Level 7 Climashield Apex 100 g Jacket - Black
A winter light jacket in Black colour that provides excellent insulation and protection against the cold even in very low temperatures. The synthetic insulation Climashield Apex retains its properties even when wet, and the outer material with Rip-Stop weave enhances tear resistance. This model is designed according to the ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) and serves as the essential, insulating layer of clothing for harsh weather conditions. The jacket is equipped with a concealed hood and spacious pockets.
Climashield Apex insulation and outer material
The jacket features lightweight synthetic insulation Climashield Apex with a grammage of 100 g/m2, ensuring warmth even in freezing weather. The insulation remains functional despite moisture, dries quickly, and is easy to compress into the included compression sack. The outer material is 100% Nylon with Rip-Stop weave, improving resistance to damage and tears. An additional teflon coating makes the jacket resistant to light rain and dirt.

The jacket is equipped with a adjustable hood, compatible with helmets and caps. The hood is concealed in a collar fastened with a double zipper. The jacket is fastened along its full length with a double-sided YKK zipper, facilitating access to items on the belt without fully unzipping it. On the shoulders, there are Velcro panels for attaching patches, emblems or Morale Patches. Elastic drawstrings with stoppers in the lower hem of the jacket ensure a better fit and prevent heat loss.

The Helikon-Tex Level 7 Climashield Apex 100 g is a well-thought-out jacket that guarantees a high level of warmth while remaining lightweight. The Climashield Apex filling provides excellent insulation against the cold, yet the jacket itself is light and comfortable, not restricting freedom of movement. The outer fabric offers good protection against wind and moisture, which works well in harsh weather conditions. The fit is comfortable and the pockets are arranged in a practical way – both for everyday use and in the field. The whole piece is made with great care and solidity. It's a great option for those who need a warm yet lightweight jacket with a technical character.

One of the best in its usage range. Satisfied! The size is accurate, it’s not undersized like its Chinese counterparts. I recommend it. The price, of course, is not low, but the jacket is worth it.

The jacket is very functional and comfortable. It works well both on its own and as a second layer under the M65 without insulation. Even in severe frosts (-10/-15 degrees) with a thin layer underneath, it did the job. A practical solution with toggles in the pockets – allows you to adjust the hood without taking your hands out. It is perfect as a layer under a military rain jacket. After removing the Velcro, traces remain, though they are only noticeable up close (for me, they were bothersome on a daily basis and under a jacket). The jacket is definitely worth its price.

Very good jacket, excellently made. I chose the Flecktarn camouflage model and it works perfectly for nature photography. It's not the warmest jacket in the world, but combined with a fleece and warm thermal underwear, I was able to sit still for two hours at a perceived -10°C. I haven't tested it in heavy rain yet, but two hours in light sleet went smoothly without any issues. What I like most is the high collar finished with fleece (which removes the need for a scarf or neck warmer) and the two-way zip with inside pockets – perfect, for example, for storing gloves. If it had underarm vents, which would be really useful when walking, it would be the perfect jacket for me.
-
The jacket is both lightweight and provides warmth. If worn correctly and with the right layering, it meets expectations. It is practical, retains heat well, and gives the impression of being sturdy. Unfortunately, its biggest drawback is the price.
-
The jacket is warm and practical – it's perfectly suitable to wear down to -5°C, I usually use it for walks around the city with just a T-shirt underneath. The zip is a little tough to fasten, but apart from that everything is fine. I would buy it again.
-
Very comfortable, high-quality, lightweight, and warm jacket which, in my opinion, has no drawbacks. It comes with a compression bag for transport and storage, which is very convenient. The pockets and the hood, which is located in the collar, are also convenient.

Very satisfied with the purchase of this jacket. It is very comfortable, lightweight and warm. I got a bit confused when choosing the size. The manufacturer uses two scales, American and European. The website does not mention this. The size chart seems to be American. I am 176 cm tall and weigh 86 kg. Size L suited me perfectly (American S). You can wear a fleece as a second layer underneath.

Bought helikon TEX level 7 I have already used it in cold weather at night at -7°C, wearing two layers, a T-shirt and the Level 7 jacket. It was warm, light, and comfortable. Looks stylish and modern. Very ergonomically designed, 5 stars.

First-class jacket. I usually wear size L / 50/52, at 183cm and 81kg and slim, and the size L fits perfectly (I have other jackets and trousers from Helikon, and the size always fits!). It was a bit fiddly to get the jacket into the compression sack, but it worked. You can still fit a jumper or fleece underneath without it feeling tight. The pockets and hood with internal adjustment work great, and the collar doesn't constrict, but fits comfortably. The jacket rustles a bit more than the British reversible thermal jacket I bought second-hand, but that's not RipStop material and is a bit thinner. Conclusion: Once again, an excellent performance from HelikonTex. My absolute recommendation, especially at this price here on Militär.eu.!!!

The jacket is really warm and very comfortable, but I am disappointed with some of the finishing details. After a short period of use, the cord with a plastic tip at the zip, which helped with fastening, broke off. For this price I expected better quality and durability.
-
I used this jacket for one season and it keeps you warm while still being surprisingly light. Its style is very practical, letting you comfortably wear various things underneath.
-
I bought the jacket in June, so it hasn't been tested in winter yet, but after a short time wearing it over a T-shirt I could feel it was very warm – I had to take it off quickly. It seems to be a great choice; the quality and thermal properties are at a high level. Adjustable hood, pockets on both sides and at the back. At 186 cm and 90 kg, I chose size M and I'm happy – it fits nicely, not too loose, with enough room for a uniform underneath without extra gear. The only thing is that the sleeves could be a bit longer.

This is the perfect jacket. I think the price matches its quality. I wear it every day and there are no signs of use. I highly recommend it.
