At first, I was not a fan of this kind of hat, but over time my attitude changed. Unlike a regular cap, it hides the shape of the body better and can be used together with mosquito nets on the head. This model is rather shallow, but well made. It is comfortable and stays securely on the head.

The hat is very well made and looks great in person. I appreciate that Helikon used a camouflage band around the hat – it’s an improvement compared to older models. The headgear is comfortable, well designed, and the brim has the perfect width – not too narrow, not too wide. The sizing is accurate; it’s worth measuring the circumference of your head about 1cm above the eyebrows. If your measurement is between two sizes, it’s better to choose the larger one, as the smaller may be too tight.

Be careful with the size: I recommend measuring your head with a tailor’s tape measure and choosing according to the size chart (or measuring if there are official Helikon dealers in your city). For me, it's 61cm, that's XL, although I’m not a large person. Different models may fit differently, so check the chart carefully and measure your head. This is already my third boonie hat, very cool. There’s ventilation, quality tailoring, and it's durable. It's best to watch the official video. It folds into a pocket, and there’s an orange fabric inside so you can signal in the 'greenery' and avoid losing it.

In the past few months I've bought three Helikon-Tex Mk2 boonie hats, black, multicam & woodland camo. I really rate them. They are well made, good quality and very comfortable to wear. The size guide is spot on. My head is size 61cm and the XL fits perfectly. As I've said in previous reviews I own boonie hats made by other manufacturers and also some from the British Army & the Helikon-Tex hats are the best by far. Recommended

The hat is excellent and fully met my expectations. The material is very good, it has survived many rainy days – the hat got soaked, but then dried without any problems and still wears great. Importantly, my head stayed dry, so it really protects well against rain. It works well in rain, sun, in the forest, or during tactical activities. An extra plus is the Velcro at the back, which allows you to attach a flag.
