The cut of these trousers resembles the Pentagon BDU 2.0 model, but that one, with a 35% cotton and 65% polyester blend, is rather uncomfortable on warmer days. With a 50/50 composition, these should perform better. If they had even more cotton, around 60%, they would be nearly ideal. Even so, they still come across quite well overall. It’s worth being careful with the sizing—ideally, try them on or choose a larger size, as they seem to come up slightly small. Alternatively, you could consider a different trouser model.

I have the BDU mk2 model and I must admit that I prefer its tapered fit, although that is of course a matter of taste. Overall, these are standard BDU trousers, but in a slightly slimmer cut and with an additional pocket. The Woodland version looks good, and the workmanship is also decent. The only thing that would help is more cotton, ideally in a 60% cotton to 40% polyester ratio.

The previous model was better – it had two practical, hidden pockets, for example for a phone, and wider main pockets. In the new model, I can't even fit my hand into the pockets. The only advantage in the current version is the wider belt loops.

The Helikon BDU MK2 trousers are solidly made. Compared to the SFU NEXT MK2, which I have had for about three years, this model has better-designed hip pockets, making them more practical. The material is a bit stiffer because it does not contain elastane. The cut is also a little looser than in the SFU NEXT MK2. Since the previous model has lasted several years of continuous wear, I do not worry about durability. My only comment is about the sizing – Helikon provides the same table for both models, but Militaria shows two different ones, and in my opinion, the tables on the Militaria website are more accurate. I wear a size L: in the SFU NEXT MK2 they were just right, here the BDU MK2 are about 3 cm too long, but shortening them is enough. Apart from that, these trousers are great for everyday use, a walk in the forest or the mountains. I can recommend them.

I'm a fan of the Helikon brand, but these trousers are a complete disappointment for me. The material and quality of workmanship are fine, but the cut itself is so uncomfortable that you simply can't wear them! For over 20 years, I've used BDU trousers from different manufacturers – MIL-TEC, TESAR, and others – and they were always comfortable. Unfortunately, this model from Helikon didn't work at all, and I'm also surprised by the lack of a flap on the fly.

The trousers are well made, have great pockets, but it's worth paying attention to the sizing, as it is slightly smaller than standard. I ordered my usual size of Helikon trousers, which I already own, but these turned out to be a bit tight.
