Delta Optical Forest Gen3 Binoculars 8x42

Binoculars with a 42 mm objective lens and fixed 8x magnification, belonging to the third generation of models in the Forest series. The design uses a BaK4 roof prism system with phase correction, ED glass lenses, and multi-coated FBMC anti-reflective coatings. A magnesium-aluminium alloy housing, nitrogen filling, and a wide field of view of 142 m at 1000 m make this model suitable for nature observation, hiking, and use in changing lighting conditions.

ergonomic rubber-coated body, waterproof design

The binocular body is made of a magnesium-aluminium alloy and built around a compact Roof design, which helps maintain a slim profile. The interpupillary distance adjustment range is 59-73 mm. The housing is covered with a soft non-slip rubber coating with a textured surface, providing protection and shock absorption. The binoculars are equipped with a convenient central focusing mechanism that allows quick switching from observing nearby targets to objects at long distances.

Twist-up eyecups improve comfort and help maintain proper eye position relative to the eyepiece. Dioptre adjustment in the right eyepiece allows precise image adjustment to the observer's individual needs. The model is equipped with a standard 1/4 inch tripod thread, allowing mounting on a tripod with a suitable binocular adapter. The binoculars are waterproof to IPX7 standard and equipped with nitrogen filling to protect against fogging, allowing observation even in unfavourable weather.

BaK-4 prisms, ED lenses, FBMC coating

The objective lenses are made of ED glass. This material is used to reduce chromatic aberration, meaning coloured fringing visible on high-contrast edges. This results in a clearer image and more accurate colour reproduction of observed objects.

The model uses an optical system based on BaK-4 prisms made of barium crown glass. They feature a high refractive index, which makes it possible to achieve an image with high sharpness, brightness, and good contrast with minimal chromatic aberration. Thanks to good light transmission, these prisms perform especially well in low-light conditions. The lenses and eyepieces are coated with multi-coated FBMC anti-reflective coatings, which reduce light loss and unwanted reflections. As a result, the image gains high contrast, natural colour reproduction, and better clarity.

A 5.2 mm exit pupil means the binoculars also perform well during twilight observation and in limited lighting conditions. The model stands out with a wide field of view (142m/1000m), which allows observation of a larger area without the need to frequently reposition the binoculars, making it easier to locate and track moving objects.

case included

The set includes a case made of durable synthetic material with increased resistance to abrasion and moisture, providing effective protection for the binoculars during transport and storage. In addition, the model comes with an adjustable neck strap for comfortable and secure carrying during field observation.

Delta Optical is a European company established in 1989 on the initiative of optics enthusiasts. It is now one of the main manufacturers of binoculars and telescopes in Europe, and its equipment is used by travellers, hunters, astronomers and TOPR mountain rescuers. The brand works with renowned partners such as Pulsar, Pentax and William Optics, offering a wide selection of devices valued by both professionals and enthusiasts of nature and sky observation. Delta Optical continually improves its products, implementing innovations that increase precision and ease of use. Telescopes from this brand have been used many times during organised public astronomy shows. Thanks to the company's commitment, thousands of people have had the opportunity to see Saturn's rings or details of the Moon's surface for the first time.

BaK-4 feature
BaK-4
BaK-4 are high-end prisms made of Barium Crown glass, containing barium oxide. They are used in advanced optics such as binoculars, telescopes and finders, where image quality is crucial. BaK-4 glass is characterized by a high refractive index, resulting in a sharp, bright and well-contrasted image with minimal chromatic aberration. With excellent light transmission, these prisms perform particularly well in low-light conditions.
ED Lenses feature
ED Lenses
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses are optical elements made of low-dispersion glass, used in high-end optical devices. Their main function is to reduce chromatic aberration, which is the splitting of light manifested by colored borders around contrasting objects. With ED lenses, the image is clearer, sharper and has better color reproduction - especially at the edges of the field of view and when observing high-contrast objects.
