It works very well on nubuck, suede and full grain leather. I have not used it on a Gore-Tex membrane, but on Regi-Tex in Bennon Terreno High trekking boots, which are made of nubuck, in combination with Lowa Water Stop Eco impregnation it creates excellent protection even during heavy rain. I recommend keeping the correct care steps – the bottle has instructions on how to proceed, so especially for beginners, it is highly advisable to read them to avoid problems.
