The backpack is perfectly designed and solidly made. In person, it looks even better than in the photos. Among its advantages are a comfortable hip belt with stretchy pockets ideal for a phone, strong buckles and zips, a flat pocket in the main compartment, very comfortable straps, and a well-thought-out rain cover. The backpack can be reduced in size with straps if it's not full. So far, I haven't noticed any flaws.
Alpinus Otway 40 l backpack - Olive
Olive backpack with a capacity of 40 liters, made of durable and damage-resistant 400D nylon, designed for comfort even during prolonged activity. It performs well on day trips, hikes, camping, and multi-day outdoor expeditions.
Spacious main compartment, 8 pockets
The main compartment closes with a top flap and a high-quality YKK zipper, with access from both the top and the front panel. Inside, there is a compartment for a hydration bladder or laptop and a document pocket.
The backpack includes two large-capacity side compartments, two elastic side pockets ideal for a water bottle or wet clothing, a front pocket for smaller items, two small hip belt pockets, and a lid pocket with an additional compartment. The front pocket is secured by a laminated YKK zipper and a teflon coating, providing effective moisture protection.
Adjustable shoulder straps, chest and hip belt, UTX buckle with emergency whistle
Fit and stability are ensured by a carrying system with a removable frame. Wide, adjustable shoulder straps with soft padding ensure even weight distribution under heavy load. The inner side is finished with breathable mesh fabric for enhanced comfort during extended wear.
The adjustable chest strap is fastened with a UTX buckle with a built-in emergency whistle. A hip belt with soft foam padding further enhances comfort, while the anatomically shaped neoprene back panel does not absorb moisture and supports effective ventilation thanks to its perforated design.
Compression straps, loops for attaching trekking poles
This model includes compression straps for volume adjustment and securing extra gear such as a jacket, tarp, or sleeping mat. On the front, there are loops and attachment points for trekking poles, an ice axe, or other outdoor equipment.
Rain cover, Alpinus Safety reflective elements
The model is equipped with a rain cover that effectively protects the contents from rainfall. Alpinus Safety reflective elements placed on it increase the user's visibility after dark and in low-visibility conditions such as fog or rain.

Alpinus is a Polish outdoor brand with a rich history, founded in 1990 by outstanding Himalayan climbers Artur Hajzer, Janusz Majer, and Ryszard Warecki. From the very beginning, its mission has been to create reliable clothing and equipment for people who actively spend time in nature. As one of the pioneering brands in Poland, Alpinus introduced clothing with Gore-Tex membranes to its range, setting new standards of quality. After a period of absence, the brand returned to the market, combining its mountaineering heritage with modern technologies and an ecological approach to production. Today, it is recognized by both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

I wanted to buy a military-style backpack, but within this budget I couldn't find anything suitable. I chose this Alpinus backpack, which looks a bit military and comes in my favourite colour. It works well for trips into the mountains, forests, as well as other outings. The backpack seems sturdy and well made; there are no loose threads or other faults. Its capacity surprised me – in order to fill it completely, I had to pack a lot of things. Both the hip belt and shoulder straps are thick and well padded. It's a recent purchase, so for now I can praise the quality of workmanship and its capacity.

This backpack is really well thought out, designed with experience and attention to detail. Very spacious, comfortable (the main compartment opens the full length from the front), ideal for short, several-day outings or hunting trips – already tested. The only thing I miss is a few more small pockets inside and outside, although that's something you can live with. It's very durable. Thanks to the side straps and loops, you can attach lots of equipment, like a sleeping mat, tent, sleeping bag or hammock, and everything is secure. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The backpack is surprisingly spacious for its size. The material is sturdy, the zips are solid and secure the many pockets well. An added bonus is the space for a hydration bladder and a rain cover. For short, several-day mountain trips, it works brilliantly. I recommend it.

This is a great backpack, ideal for longer trips – it has been tested many times. The pocket layout is very practical and the capacity is impressive for this volume. The only downside might be the top section, which fastens only with a zip, but after more than a year of use, there are no signs of wear or damage. Definitely a very good buy!

The backpack works great for light gear. Thanks to its design, it can hold a lot both inside and out. I've had it for a relatively short time, but so far I'm very satisfied. Bear in mind that it's intended for a specific group of users. The side straps allow you to attach larger items such as a sleeping mat or shelter. Even a large, two-piece sleeping bag fits easily in the main compartment, and the numerous pockets help organise equipment. I was a bit concerned about comfort, but so far everything is fine. If you're looking for a backpack for one-day or weekend trips, I recommend this model.
