Alpha Industries MA-1 TT Flying Tigers Jacket - Sage Green

The MA-1 jacket, made from durable, hard-wearing materials, effectively protects against cold, wind and moisture. Its reversible design, inspired by its original use for USAF pilots, allows it to be worn both in the classic style and with a visible orange side for improved visibility in difficult conditions. With its carefully designed construction, insulation and numerous practical pockets, the jacket is ideal for both everyday use and outdoor activities.

The outer layer is made of robust and abrasion-resistant nylon, which protects against wind and moisture. A synthetic filling of polyester fibres guarantees thermal comfort in lower temperatures.

The MA1 can be worn on either the right or left side. The inner side has a distinctive orange colour, referring to the original purpose of the MA-1 jackets, which were used by USAF pilots. In the event of an emergency landing or shoot-down, the bright colour increased the chances of being found quickly by emergency services. Nowadays, this solution can be useful when walking on unlit roads.

The fastening of the MA-1 Heritage jacket is a unidirectional zip with an organic leather handle for easy use with gloves. An internal thermal strip protects the zipper for additional protection against the cold. The collar, cuffs and waist have elasticated ribbing to protect against the cold and improve the fit of the jacket.

The jacket has five capacious pockets:

• two front ones closed with patches and snaps,
• two inside with press studs,
• one on the left sleeve, closed with a zip.

A Remove Before Flight tag has been placed on the sleeve next to the pocket, adding to the military style. Flying Tigers troop markings have been applied to the jacket.
