Fishing umbrellas

Fishing umbrellas provide reliable shelter on the bank, helping you stay focused on the water instead of the weather. Designed for static and feeder anglers as well as carp specialists, these umbrellas shield you and your tackle from rain, wind and harsh sun during long sessions by the lake or river.

Modern fishing umbrellas typically feature robust steel or fiberglass frames, tilt mechanisms for precise positioning and adjustable poles to adapt height and angle. Durable waterproof canopies with taped seams, often in green or camo patterns, reduce glare and help you blend into the surroundings. Larger models offer extended side panels or zip-in front panels, creating a semi-enclosed fishing shelter that protects your luggage, chair and rod setup from the elements.

In the angling world, fishing umbrellas are also known as brolly systems and are a practical alternative to heavier bivvies. They are valued for quick set-up and compact transport size, making them ideal for short day sessions, stalking, or mobile carp fishing where you frequently change your swim. Many anglers combine a fishing umbrella with storm poles and ground pegs to increase stability in strong wind and heavy rain.

Fishing umbrellas are suitable for coarse and carp anglers, predator anglers spending hours in one spot, as well as recreational fishers who simply want dependable shelter on weekend trips. When choosing a model, you usually consider canopy size in inches, weight, frame construction, fabric hydrostatic head rating and additional panels or side wings.
