Made of Cordura, a roomy, durable and reliable hip bag that holds essential accessories without having to carry them in pants pockets, a larger bag or backpack.
It was equipped with 3 compartments:
- main one, closed with a two-way zipper,
- front one, closed with a two-way zipper,
- rear flat one (closest to the hip), closed with a one-way zipper.
The main compartment features a flat zippered pocket and a mesh pocket/compartment. On the opposite, a rubber band was sewn in, allowing easy organization of items (e.g. multitool, flashlight, knife and/or pens).
The front compartment features a sewn-in elastic band, allowing for easy organization of items, and a mesh pocket/compartment on the opposite.
At the end of each of the two-way zippers, paracord lines are attached to dampen the bumping of the zipper ends against each other, and can also act as spare straps. The zipper of the main compartment is covered with a trim to prevent dirt accumulation.
On the front pocket and next to it (on two sides), as well as on the back panel, MOLLE webbing system (pals - an arrangement of inch-long webbing sewn every inch) has been sewn on. The webbing on the back allow the Gekon to be attached to a backpack with a twin webbing system, while those on the front allow you to carry urgent need equipment items.
Velcro panels have also been sewn onto the front straps, allowing the hip bag to be marked with a patch (morale patch) to emphasize the owner's individual character.
The hip bag can be worn on the belt as well as on the chest. The belt is fastened with a 60 mm quick release buckle (fastex) and is adjustable in length (maximum 110 cm).
