Durable equipment. I chose this model because I needed a handy pickaxe to dig several sizable holes in the garden for trees. The soil is full of stones, but the pickaxe copes well nonetheless. Because of its small size, it’s easy to operate with one hand. The only downside is that the head doesn’t lock itself onto the handle, although it should. I had to hammer it in, but after working with stones, it loosened anyway. I solved this by screwing in two small screws from underneath – the problem disappeared. I don’t treat this as a bushcraft gadget, but rather as a working tool for the garden.

The tool is sharp, durable and solid. Sure, the handle is traditionally wood, but the head itself is a solid piece of steel – durable and very sharp. The whole thing is not excessively heavy, which makes work easier.
