I've had the shoes for half a year. In both, the tongue presses hard on my foot and it hasn't adjusted over this time. The material soaks through quickly even when just walking on wet grass, so I don't understand the waterproof membrane marking. They're not suitable for the mountains unless it's dry. The only advantage is the sole. I don't think they're worth the price. For everyday use they might be fine, but for hiking it’s better to look for something else.
Merrell Speed Strike 2 MID Boots - Rock
Footwear with lightweight and durable design, made of recycled materials with a waterproof membrane, combining features of trekking and tactical footwear. The elevated and stiffened upper ensures stability of the foot even on demanding terrain.
Synthetic leather, mesh material
The upper is made from a combination of synthetic leather and tear-resistant mesh fabric.
Special reinforcements on the upper and in the toe area provide additional protection in rough terrain.
Waterproof membrane
The breathable and waterproof membrane prevents water from entering the shoe and wicks away moisture. Thanks to its properties, it keeps your feet dry even during intense exertion.
EVA foam insole, Cleansport NXT
The removable insole is made of 50% recycled EVA foam.
Cleansport NXT is a cutting-edge technology that prevents odors in footwear. It uses a system of beneficial bacteria that are inserted into the structure of the fabric. When they come into contact with sweat, they activate, producing enzymes that eliminate the bacteria responsible for unpleasant odors. As a result, the footwear remains fresh throughout its life, while the bacteria remain on the surface of the fabric.
Rubber sole, EVA midsole
The Speed Strike 2 features a two-layer EVA foam midsole, which provides maximum support to the foot, perfectly stabilizing it and protecting it from impact.
Stable movement on the terrain is guaranteed by a flexible and abrasion-resistant sole made of durable rubber. It provides great cushioning, and its non-slip texture and deep tread are responsible for very good grip, even on wet or slippery surfaces.
Lacing system, inserts at the tongue
A high sewn-in tongue prevents sand, dust or other debris from entering the shoes, and a two-zone lacing system allows for a precise fit. Loops have been placed at the back to make it easy to put on and take off the shoes.

Excellent shoes, I have been using them since autumn 2024 mainly during mountain trips. Wearing comfort, convenience, stability, lightness and breathability – they are really great! However, hiking on Alpine trails and in the rain has shown that they are not waterproof – after walking in the rain I had wet feet (I’m referring to rainfall, not wading through rivers or mud). The shoes are NOT waterproof, you need to keep this in mind – the thin layer on the midfoot lets water in. I also miss a reinforcement at the front of the shoes. Apart from that, everything else is top notch.

The biggest downside of these shoes is the lack of proper ventilation and poor moisture wicking – in autumn, spring, and winter. I bought this model together with a friend and despite trying different trekking socks, our feet sweat quickly, and the moisture stays inside regardless of the weather. It might also be due to the impregnation used by the manufacturer.

Very good trekking shoes: high and warm sole, solid tread with large gaps which makes cleaning easier. Definitely worth recommending.

Very good shoes from a well-known manufacturer, made very solidly and providing great comfort, while being reasonably priced for this quality. I sincerely recommend them.

The trekking shoes are comfortable; even after many hours in tough terrain you don't feel discomfort. The price is attractive, and at this price point it's hard to find a better product. I definitely recommend them.

These are great shoes of very high quality and excellent properties. They are lightweight, well-made, and provide great support to the foot. They grip the ground well. Perfect for long-term use, comfortable for many hours. Fashionable and stylish – they suit me very well and I can confidently recommend them to others, especially since the price is very attractive.

The shoes are really good: warm, soft, with a flexible sole and a universal tread. Unfortunately, they don’t fit my feet – I’ve been searching for shoes for a long time so nothing bothers me while walking. It’s a pity, because they are great shoes.

Quite good trekking shoes. Comfortable, even after several hours in difficult terrain I didn’t experience any problems. For this price it will be hard to find anything better.
