Very good value for money, the gloves keep you warm in normal cold weather (not for extreme cold). They are well fitted, easy to put on and take off. The materials seem to be of good quality, but we'll have to see how they hold up over time.
Mechanix Wear ColdWork Original Tactical Gloves - Black/Grey
Insulated gloves in Black/Grey color, designed for use in low temperatures. They effectively protect against frost and safeguard hands from abrasions and cuts. The excellent fit ensures a secure grip and does not restrict precise movements. This model is perfect for survival expeditions, workshop tasks, DIY projects, and ASG or paintball games.
Durable softshell, C40 3M Thinsulate insulation
The construction based on thick fleece ensures warmth and comfort, while the outer layer made of softshell material effectively prevents cold air penetration. Thanks to C40 3M Thinsulate insulation, the gloves provide optimal thermal comfort even in harsh weather conditions.
Durable synthetic leather, touchscreen compatibility
The palm side is made of synthetic leather, characterized by high durability and precision in use. Additional thumb reinforcement with Armortex material increases resistance to damage. The glove design allows for touchscreen operation without removing them.
Convenient hook-and-loop closure, anatomical stitching, snap buckle
The adjustable hook-and-loop closure, made of thermoplastic rubber (TPR), allows for a precise fit to the wrist. Additionally, the gloves are equipped with a snap buckle that enables them to be fastened together for easier transport and storage. Anatomical stitching ensures comfortable wear.
EN388-2111X and EN511-22X standards
Die Handschuhe erfüllen die Schutznorm EN388 auf dem Niveau 2111X hinsichtlich mechanischer Risiken, was bedeutet:
- 2: Abriebfestigkeit (Skala 0–4)
- 1: Schnittfestigkeit (Skala 0–5)
- 1: Weiterreißfestigkeit (Skala 0–4)
- 1: Durchstichfestigkeit (Skala 0–4)
- X: Schnittfestigkeit – TDM-Test (ISO 13997) (Skala A–F)

The gloves are well made, comfortable, and provide warmth, although they stop protecting at temperatures below -15 degrees. I first bought the L size model, then took XL, hoping they would be better for severe cold, but it turned out that in XL the right thumb is too tight. Therefore, I recommend visiting a shop and trying on different pairs before purchasing, as the sizing and stitching are not precise. The palm interior is covered with a material that provides good grip, sufficient for field work or equipment handling. Time will tell how long they last – in other gloves from this brand this material wore out, but after 2 months I see no signs of wear. Touchscreen operation works, although it’s hard for me to say how useful that is – typing in gloves is rather difficult.

Good gloves, which I bought for driving on cold days. They do their job very well. However, in sub-zero temperatures outside, they are not sufficient and my hands get cold.
-
After several weeks of using these gloves, I can say that during higher physical activity or light work, like shovelling snow at temperatures of -6/-8 degrees, they provide good protection and warmth for my hands. However, when I stop moving or the effort ends, they quickly turn out to be not warm enough and my hands start to get cold. It's also important to remember that resistance to cold is individual, just like blood circulation and each person's ability to keep hands and feet warm in freezing conditions. Therefore, the feeling of warmth from gloves is a very subjective matter, depending on the situation and not just the temperature.

They are short, but if I intend to use the watch for navigation, they have to be. They are more suitable for everyday use and walks rather than more intensive activity. At -5 degrees it was comfortable, but at -10 definitely not.
-
I am very disappointed with the quality of Mechanix gloves. After just one day of use, the seams started to come apart and the fleece quickly became bobbled. I used the gloves exclusively for driving heavy vehicles, so they were not heavily used, yet they proved to be not very durable. They would only be suitable for walks without touching anything – poor grip and not very comfortable to work in. The heating function did not work at all at –3°C, my hands were still cold. In summary: poor quality, low durability and ineffective heating – I do not recommend these gloves either for work or colder days.
-
The insulated version of Mechanix gloves is practically no different from the standard ones – they work great for light tasks where good sensitivity is important. Unfortunately, for heavy-duty work they wear out quickly, and since they are quite short, they don't provide much protection for the wrist.
-
Gloves fit well. I am between sizes so I undersized due to dexterity preferences. It was a little short but long jacket sleeves could cover it. It does not keep my hands warm below 0°C but it's fairly decent in milder weather. Sufficient dexterity to work zips.
-
Very good gloves, solidly made, they offer adequate thermal insulation for their thickness. They provide good feel and effectively protect against the cold. They are so satisfactory that I decided to buy a second pair in the fast fit variant.
-
Great gloves. I have both versions – with the Velcro and Fast Fit – and I use them depending on my needs. When wearing a bigger watch or when I want the gloves not to slip off, I choose the ones with Velcro. If I need to put them on and take them off frequently, don’t have a large watch, or want them to cover the wrist more, I use the Fast Fit. Touch screens work perfectly.

A few weeks ago, I bought the Mechanix Wear ColdWork Original - Coyote gloves. Despite the insulation, they offer quite a stable grip and do not slip on the items being held. On cold days, they protect well against the cold. However, they are not designed for very low temperatures – in those conditions, they will not provide full protection from the cold. I believe they represent a reasonable compromise between insulation, thickness of the lining, comfort of use, and a price that matches the quality of the product.
-
The gloves present very good quality and look great, they fit the hand perfectly. They are not meant for severe frost, but they will protect your hands well at around zero degrees. Very comfortable to wear, I was afraid they would be too small, but they are just right.
-
Mechanix to Mechanix I bought another pair of gloves from this brand, this time for winter. They are very well made and fit the hand perfectly. Warm, while still providing good ventilation. They combine insulation and precision of movement perfectly. Highly recommended. As always, the service and delivery time at Militaria are top-notch.
-
High-quality and comfortable gloves, well insulated, in my opinion suitable for down to -5°C, and with active hand movement down to -10°C. I recommend them to everyone as a fairly lightweight model of insulated gloves, very comfortable, high-quality, and in my view, there are no downsides.
-
The gloves are very durable and provide a lot of warmth. They fit the hand perfectly, do not restrict movement and are excellent for work as well as for everyday use on colder days. I highly recommend buying them.
