This is my favourite fleece. The hood may seem a bit tight, but this allows you to wear, for example, a cycling helmet or helmet over it when you need extra head protection. After three years of use, the patches on the shoulders started to darken from the sun. Other than that, there is no visible major wear and tear, despite intensive use (with a chest rig, in bushes, in winter, etc.).

Helikon Alpha Hoodie Grid Fleece - Shadow Grey
The two-way zip hooded fleece jacket in Shadow Grey is made from Grid Fleece material. The fabric provides effective thermal insulation in low temperatures and allows excess heat and moisture to escape during physical activity. The jacket works well both as a layer under a softshell jacket and as a standalone cover. The back section is slightly elongated to better protect the kidney area from wind.
Grid Fleece type fleece, reinforcements on elbows and shoulders
The jacket is made from Grid Fleece material, which is 100% quick-drying polyester with a grammage of 310 g/m2. Its characteristic mesh structure aids in moisture wicking, improves air circulation, and helps maintain a stable body temperature during exertion. The material is soft and pleasant to the touch, yet resistant to wear, making it suitable for both outdoor and everyday use. Additional reinforcements have been applied to the elbows and shoulders, increasing durability in areas most prone to abrasion.

The fleece is equipped with five zipped pockets:
- two classic hip pockets
- one chest pocket with headphone cable access
- two pockets placed on the sleeves, at shoulder level
velcro panels
On the shoulder pockets, there are velcro (hook and loop) panels which allow for the attachment of patches and emblems, such as a national flag, unit emblem, or so-called Morale Patches. This solution gives the jacket an individual character.
two-way fastening and YKK zips
The jacket features a two-way zip, allowing it to be unzipped from both the top and bottom. This solution facilitates access to items worn on a belt or tactical belt, improving convenience of use in the field and during activities.
All zips used in the fleece are manufactured by YKK.
hoods, cuffs and drawstring at the bottom
The hood has a fitted design, ensuring a snug fit to the head and protection against the cold. The elastic edging helps keep the hood in place during movement, and its form allows it to be worn under a helmet or additional layers of clothing. The bottom of the jacket is fitted with a drawstring to allow for circumference adjustment and help reduce heat loss, while the cuffs are finished with elastic trimming, improving fit and protection against draughts.

A really nice fleece – softer and, in my opinion, more comfortable than a regular Alpha. It seems that the sizing is a bit mixed up in the description, because I have three similar models without a hood and they're all the same size. This is already my tenth fleece of this brand. Alpha is perfect for warmer days and as an extra layer in winter. When there was no wind, I wore this fleece at -2 degrees with a thermal top and it was comfortable. It's light and very comfortable. I've had a regular Alpha for two years, I often wash it and I don't see any damage, it doesn't lose shape or fade. I consider Helikon fleeces among the top ones.

This is my second Helikon fleece. I previously had the Patriot model for colder days; this one is also warm, especially when combined with a softshell. I'm 180 cm tall and weigh 103 kg, size XL fits perfectly.

Excellent fleece, lots of practical pockets, high quality finish, the hood can replace a hat. It's thin, but at the same time warm. The size matches the chart. I recommend it.

A very good fleece for transitional periods, this is another model from this series that has made it into my wardrobe. The pockets are comfortable and thoughtfully placed. Thanks to the Velcro panels, you can personalise the jumper with your favourite patches as you like.

The fleece is lightweight and has no lining. The company undersizes the garments by one size compared to m-tak. The quality of materials and workmanship is good, but at this price it is better to choose the classic military fleece of the same brand.

I really liked this fleece – the material is pleasant and sturdy even though it is thinner than Liberty. It is practical and does its job well. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too large, but it's great that you can order and try it on.

Great fleece with interesting material and really nice pockets. After a year I discovered an extra small pocket on the chest. For cold, windy days, it’s too thin to use as a standalone layer and requires extra protection, which is not a flaw. I was surprised that it is less warm than a standard sweatshirt from Decathlon. Not suitable for cold and wind as an outer layer. Overall, a great product for warmer days. I recommend it.

Very good fleece, I am currently using it. It is very comfortable and although thin, it keeps you warm well. The zips work great, and the option to unzip from the bottom is very useful. Perfect as an additional layer for the classic Helikon Alpha Tactical. This model has a hood and reinforcements on the elbows and shoulders. It also seems a bit longer when worn.
