+very light and takes up very little space in the backpack +great protection from the rain – highly recommend -suitable for sleeping, but personally I wouldn't fully recommend it it performs excellently as a poncho and a small tarp, but as a bivy bag it's worse – after a while, it gets damp on the inside walls, which can make it cold.
A very lightweight, waterproof thermal sleeping bag equipped with a detachable hood and a mosquito net for the face. It can be used as a hammock bolster, an outdoor sleeping bag (combined, for example, with the Walker series sleeping bag, or a poncho. with a sleeping bag from the Walker series) or a poncho. Hideout Thermo can also be combined with another identical camping sheet and thus create a two-person bivvy bag.
The sleeping bag is made of durable polyester with mesh ripstop. All seams and zippers are secured to prevent moisture from getting inside. The Thermo layer reflects heat generated naturally by the body, as well as 98% of UV rays (UPF50+).
The Hideout is equipped with two zippered interior pockets. Removable hood and dense mesh mosquito netting protect your head, face, and neck from mosquitoes, midges, ticks, and other insects. The stiffening keeps the mesh away from your face.
With the included expanders, the sleeping bag can be converted into a hammock liner/cover or a convenient rain cape with a mosquito net tucked into the hood.
Set includes:
- sleeping bag,
- hood with mosquito net,
- expander x2,
- repair patch.

A very universal product. As a bivvy, it’s excellent when paired with a sleeping bag or blanket. For most of the year, with cold nights, you can get condensation inside, so it’s good to have a sleeping bag or blanket between your body and the thermo layer. The second inconvenience is the cold from below at pressure points – additional ground insulation helps here. I also have the insulated version of the hideout (I managed to get the last one), where these inconveniences do not occur – unfortunately, it is currently unavailable. For fans of the Bushmen bivvy, the basic option remains, which still stands out in terms of functionality – it can be used as a poncho/tarp, a rain cape, or a hammock underquilt. The Hideout has several zips, which you need to be careful with as they can block each other; you need to separate them and only then open the zip. This is due to rainproofing concerns. Without a doubt, this is the most creative product from Bushmen, especially appreciated by fans of lightweight, minimalist camping. Personally, I liked it very much.

I'm writing this review after almost a year of use, although the kit hasn’t been used very intensively – all winter and during heavy rains, the Bushmen Hideout Thermo Bivy Bag performed faultlessly. Treated with Nikwax twice (at the start and early spring). A fantastic invention, just worth practising the set-up as it can be a bit tricky at first, but you quickly get used to it. Buying this bivvy/rain cape was one of the best gear decisions in my kit. I’ve slept in it several times during downpours and it has never let any water in. It will definitely come in handy during treks, border crossings and various outdoor activities. I highly recommend it – if you’re wondering about buying it, don’t hesitate. The Bushmen Hideout Thermo Bivy Bag is a very versatile bit of kit.

A great addition to any survival kit, very versatile! Works as a bivvy, rain cape, blanket, thermal blanket or emergency sleeping bag... The workmanship, as always with Bushmen, is top notch! The material used insulates thermally very well, protects against heat loss on cold nights, and in the heat, shields you from the sun. Anyone familiar with Bushmen products knows what I mean. I recommend it, as with all their things – its versatility means it’ll come in handy in truly many situations.

A universal product. I use it exclusively as a bivvy; ideal for overnight stays outdoors all year round, perfect for stealth camping. All you need to do is adjust your sleeping bag or blanket depending on the season. In case of rain, it’s worth having a poncho or tarp. After buying the thermo hideout from Bushmen, it’s best to treat the material with permethrin – then you can sleep in the woods without worry. The bivvy is long enough for an adult and their luggage. The two inner pockets are great for small items like a phone or keys. The mosquito net with a hoop effectively protects against insects, and the hood can fit a small pillow to increase sleeping comfort. For me, the Bushmen Hideout (in the form of a bivvy bag) is a great alternative to a tent or hammock and an excellent choice if you value discretion when camping. I highly recommend this product.

The bivvy works great. It’s waterproof and resistant to harsh conditions. It takes up very little space. It’s best to pack your sleeping bag inside and carry everything together. It’s quick to set up and take down at camp.

A very versatile product. You can use it as a bivy (its main function), but with a bit of practice, it's easy to convert into a poncho, tarp, or hammock underquilt. I tested it as an underquilt and a bivy – it works perfectly in both roles. As a poncho or tarp, it's more of a backup solution, but if saving space in your backpack matters – it's the ideal choice. I recommend preparing the Hideuot for poncho use beforehand, as the setup requires skill and time. As a bivy, the vapour permeability is rather low, and during cool nights moisture can develop on the walls, so I suggest using an extra layer between the mat and your body, such as a sleeping bag. The mosquito net and the way it's attached – in my opinion, very well thought out.

A very versatile piece of kit. It works well as both a bivvy and a poncho. It can also be used as an insulating layer for a hammock. The mosquito net is a great solution for a restful sleep. The only downside is the need to practise changing configurations – at first, it’s neither obvious nor easy, but the gear comes pre-set as a bivvy.
-
A versatile, high-quality product. It is light and very durable. Excellent as an emergency shelter. It’s worth practising changing its configuration a few times so that you can quickly convert it from one version to another if needed. I recommend it without reservation.

A brilliant product! Very durable, lightweight, easy to pack and well designed; possibly the most versatile poncho available on the market. You can sleep in it without a sleeping mat at temperatures down to 14°C (though don’t expect comfort). Tested during ‘Skorpion’ manoeuvres at the range in Wesoła. There are instructions on YouTube and the manufacturer’s website showing how to convert the poncho into a sleeping bag or tarp.
