Looking for my first tarp for camping, this one caught my attention. Its size works great both for sleeping in a hammock and for building a simple, enclosed shelter. The middle layer really retains heat, making it very comfortable to use this tarp on colder days.
Badger Outdoor X-Thermo Tarp Olive
A versatile 300 x 280 cm thermally insulated camping tarp, ideal for quick and easy shelter preparation during hiking or cycling trips. Made of waterproof, lightweight polyester, it is an excellent alternative to a traditional heavy tent.
Thermal insulation for optimum comfort
One side of the X-Thermo tarp has been coated with a thermal insulation layer, which provides thermal comfort on cold nights and reflects the sun's rays on hot days, effectively lowering the temperature under the tarp. The other side has an olive color that absorbs heat and provides a discreet appearance in various terrain conditions, such as forests, mountains and open spaces.
Simple and quick unfolding, taped seams
Setting up the tarp is very easy and takes only a few minutes. The tarp can be unfolded in many ways, for example, using rope (included) or paracord and any environment (trees, rocks, hollows of the terrain), trekking poles, paddles or even a bicycle.
Reinforced hooks allow you to quickly turn the canopy design into a gabled tent. A taped main seam and mounting pointsensure high product durability.
When folded to a size of 22 x 10 cm, it takes up little space in your gear.

Application and activity examples
Survival and bushcraft: It's perfect for the outdoors, straddling trees or rocks to provide shelter and camouflage. It can also be used as an emergency stretcher, wind shield, heat reflector or extra insulation at a campfire.
Camping, hiking: The tarp offers quick shelter from rain, wind and sun. Thanks to its thermal insulation, it provides warmth on cold nights, and as a mat it protects against cold ground. It can be laid out on trekking poles or branches to create a functional tent.
Motorcycle or bicycle expeditions: Lightweight and compact, the tarp is a great alternative to a tent during bicycle and motorcycle expeditions. When quickly set up between bikes, it protects from rain and sun. It can also act as a heat reflector at a campfire, and with its olive color it will blend in with its surroundings.

Well made and reasonably priced. It has eyelets in the centre for assembling a frame, so you can set it up as a roof even without nearby trees. Great for weekend trips.
-
In my opinion a great product – large, with a very attractive price (after checking other offers I couldn’t find anything better except questionable Chinese alternatives); the foil increases thermal comfort. It can be used as a shelter for several people or folded and used under a sleeping mat.

Interesting tarp, looks solid and I bought it with a hammock in mind. It already passed its first test and the thermal layer really does retain heat well, and the material does not leak. Unfortunately, the small number of mounting points limits it mainly to hammock use.

At this promotional price, it’s worth it if you don’t mind the small number of attachment points. The biggest advantage is the silver reflective layer, which makes it easier to shelter from high temperatures during hot days.
-
This is my first tarp, before I used a construction sheet. The seller persuaded me to get the thermal version and I’m happy with it. The material seems more robust than in standard models. I added extra mounting points (bought at a DIY shop), so now I can set it up in different ways. Tested it in winter – passed the test. Unbeatable value when on offer.

Very good bivouac tarp. The number of possible set-ups mainly depends on your own creativity. The only downside is the small number of attachment points, but if you have sufficiently long ropes, you can deal with that. The main advantage is the thermal insulation layer, which was the reason I chose to buy it. The cover is sturdy and fits the entire equipment without any problem.

I have tested it in practice. I have no complaints. It works well both in the rain and in the sun – it performs as it should. It serves well both as a sleeping cover and as insulation from the ground. Really good product!

It’s already accompanied me on several trips, has never leaked, and provides good protection from the wind. The only downside is the large volume once packed, but when strapped to the backpack, it’s not a problem at all.

The tarp works well for camping; the thermal layer effectively reflects sunlight, which helps keep the temperature underneath lower (we compared it with another tarp without this layer – the difference was noticeable; of course, in extreme heat at +30C it doesn’t matter, but in normal temperatures it’s very effective). I would suggest adding more mounting points.

Probably the best bushcraft product I’ve bought. It worked perfectly while camping and survived two strong storms without problems, while my friends’ tents ‘took off’. The only problem was insects, but using a mosquito net in the sleeping bag solved it. Definitely 10/10.

Badger Outdoor X-Thermo Tarp Olive is a really nice tarp, it’s compact, but it would be good to add more mounting points so it could be set up in more configurations.
-
The tarp definitely does its job. I’ve used it for about 8 camping trips, so I have a fair opinion. It looks fine, is easy to fold, and doesn’t take up much space in the backpack. The main downside is the small number of attachment points, which limits set-up options. As for the thermal layer – I cannot comment as I have no comparison; this is my first tarp of this type. If I had to choose again, I’d pick more attachment points over the thermal option, but overall it serves well and I hope it stays that way.

Badger Outdoor X-Thermo Tarp is a great choice for travellers who need lightweight protection from rain and sun. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, quality product.

Very good tarp at the promotional price of 139.99 PLN. The material seems durable, doesn’t rustle or crease, and takes up little space once packed. The set includes a separate bag with some pegs and guy lines. My only complaint is the lack of extra attachment points – one more in the middle of each side and one in the centre of the tarp would be useful.
