The founders were Dave and Arline Parker, who started their business in 1976 in Torrance, California, as a mail-order company offering innovative products for divers. The first patented product was the Pelican Float, and in the following years, the company introduced products such as the SabreLite flashlight and the famous Protector Case.
The 1990s saw dynamic growth, with the launch of their own production lines and the start of international expansion, opening branches in Europe (Spain), Canada, and Australia. In 2004, the company was acquired by an investment fund, accelerating its global growth.
