M05 Woodland Camouflage

Camouflage M05 (Finnish. M05 Maastokuvio) is a collection of pixelated camouflage patterns introduced to the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005 as a successor to the M91 pattern. It was developed as a result of digital analysis of photographs of Finnish forests, taken at different times of the year by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The M05 family includes several variants, including woodland, snow, and cold weather.

The main woodland version M05 consists of patches in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, effectively mimicking the structure of Finnish forests. Due to similar plant layouts and terrain conditions, the M05 Woodland camouflage is also effective in the forests of central and eastern Europe, providing effective concealment in natural surroundings.

NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) feature
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance)
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) is a material property of controlled reflection of radiation in the near-infrared (780-2500 nm) range, used primarily in tactical clothing and equipment. NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors. NIR technology significantly improves the effectiveness of camouflage in combat and low-light conditions.
